A/N: Yes, yet another fluffy Rose/Scorpius oneshot! I can't seem to get enough! This one popped into my head fully formed during my Statistics exam this morning, and made the two and a half hours bearable! Anyway, I'm thinking of putting this as a chapter of Better Than Reading?, and making a series of oneshots within that story. What do you think?

'Rose Weasley, what the bloody hell is wrong with you?' Scorpius asked, grabbing her shoulders, so she couldn't wriggle away.

'Nothing!' She squeaked in reply.

'Something's wrong, you've been avoiding me for the past two days! I ask you out, you say yes, and everything's great for two weeks, and then this!' Scorpius shook her shoulders lightly, as if to reiterate his point.

'I just feel like… like nothing! I'm fine!' She smiled falsely.

'Rose,' he said, his tone lowering, 'tell me what's wrong.'

'It's great! But I feel … I feel … like a calculator!' Rose exclaimed quickly, then clamped her hand over her mouth as she realised how ridiculous her metaphor had sounded.

Scorpius was clearly not expecting it either. 'What?'

'Like a calculator, you know! They do work efficiently, and don't break and everybody loves them, but then, when you put pressure on the screen, you can see all the bits you aren't meant to see! All of the inner workings and the things you've never needed to use before! Well, I'm your calculator, and your putting pressure on me!'

'Okay, you know I love you, but I don't understand a bloody word you just said.' Scorpius smiled lightly, and ran his fingers through the ends of her red, curly hair, as if to sooth her.

'You're seeing all the bits of me no body has ever seen before, and they're all ugly and boring! It makes me feel venerable to be like this with you! I'm not used to it. It scares me, Scorp.' Rose said, blushing Weasley-red at her words.

'Silly Rose.' Scorpius replied, pulling her into a warm embrace. 'You're meant to be scared. Uncertainty is the essence of love, and you know the basis of optimism is sheer terror. Did you not learn anything from reading Dorian Gray? And no part of you is ugly, or boring, I promise.'

Rose smiled into his shoulder. He was great, wasn't he? 'Thanks Scorpius. I love you, you know.'

Now it was Scorpius who was smiled broadly. He pulled away a little from her, so he could see her blue eyes. 'That's the first time you've ever said that out loud. Say it again?'

'I love you?' She asked, confused. 'But I say that to you all the time!'

'No, you imply it all the time, but you've never said it like that before!' Scorpius smiled. Rose rolled her eyes, mocking him. Only he would keep track of that.

'I love you. I love you. I love you!' She beamed at him. Kissing his cheek, she broke away, and skipped down the empty corridor, giggling softly to herself. 'Aren't you coming? I'm going to the lake.'

Scorpius walked after her, when a thought popped into his head.

'Rose?' he called after her, 'What's a calculator?'
