Aneko: First dabble in Tales of Legendia (Does anyone really know how to pronounce that?) Wish me luck! Chloe's POV.
Disclaimer: I don't own Tales of Legendia. Or any of the other games in the Tales of series.
To the broken pairing of Senel and Chloe.
Elegy for a Romance
It was kind of hard admitting it. She didn't even think it was possible at first. She found him to be an ungrateful, rude and ultimately childish person. How could she, a knight and a defender of justice, fall for someone like that?
Looking back, she decided it had happened in the little moments.
Trusting him with the mortifying secret of not being able to swim.
Sharing secrets.
Training together.
Encouraging each other when they were down.
Forcing one another to keep going when it felt like it wasn't possible at all.
Turns out, he wasn't what she thought he was. All those unbearable qualities were simply the evidence of how just how much he cared (for Shirley). Of course, it was also evidence that she would never have a chance.
No matter if it was Shirley or Stella, one of them kept his attention. He cared for them so much more than he did for her. She was an ally, a friend.
But never a love.
Although, even if she had gotten his attention, she would have been too afraid to speak up and tell him what she felt. She did try—of course she tried. But he was just too dense, and she just wasn't clear enough, or brave enough to try a second time.
It was just a little sad really, that it had never even been given a chance. A love that had not even started to bloom yet.
So it continued, dying even as it started, a sad song, this elegy.
Aneko: Please don't get me wrong, I adore the pairing of Senel and Shirley. I prefer it to Senel and Chloe. I just kind of felt sorry for Chloe…
