Emma loves these moments. She loves seeing her boyfriend's exhausted smile when he comes home after a long day, walking towards her before hugging her from behind while she cooks dinner for the two of them. He often plants a kiss on her cheek, just because he loves the way it can still make her blush a little.
''How was your day, love?'' He asks while taking his jacket off.
''Fine. The baby was very… kick-y today, he or she really doesn't like to be kept waiting, apparently.''
Killian chuckles. ''Bloody impatient, just like his mother,'' he says, raising an eyebrow.
Emma can't help but smirk. ''Or her mother. We could be having a girl, you know.''
He wraps his arm around her waist and carefully places his other hand (which the crocodile kindly returned, due to Killian's fear of hurting the baby once it arrived) on her belly carefully. He smells sweaty.
''Apologies, darling, you're right-''
Emma knows how much Killian would love to have a son. He gets on so well with Henry.
''-but you mustn't worry,'' he says, like he's reading her mind.
''…because I would enjoy having a daughter just as much. As long as it's our baby, I don't care about the gender. He or she will be perfect either way. You're the mother, remember?''
Emma smiles and remembers how lucky she is to have such a loving and caring boyfriend. Everything is so different from the last time she got pregnant. It's almost scary how much her life has changed over the past few years. She used to be a lonely bail bonds person with no friends and no idea of who her family was. But now, a couple of years later, she's living with her true love, with even a baby on the way. And she's happy, that's something she had never even imagined.
Killian interrupts her thoughts. ''Are you alright, love?''
Emma looks up at him and nods. ''Of course I am.''
They're both quiet for a moment, but Emma ends the silence.
''I love you, Killian.''
Killian smiles and pulls her closer. ''I know, sweetheart. And I love you too. I'll never stop.''
They spend the night eating spaghetti and watching old Disney movies, which is their friday night tradition. For Killian's sake, they won't watch Peter Pan again, since it traumatised him a bit, the first time. Beauty and The Beast is tonight's pick and Killian can't help but crying with laughter when he finds out that the Beast is supposed to be Gold.
When they finally get to bed, Killian whispers some sweet words to the baby, as he does almost every night, and Emma can't wait to see what a great father he'll be.
