Janey-E led Cooper into the bedroom. She undressed them both and they stood facing each other.

Cooper looked down at himself. Flat. And then he looked at the other. It had protrusions where he had none. It behooved him to discover the composition of those protrusions. He reached out with both hands and investigated them, their weight, their texture. And then he investigated the protrusions to the protrusions, which seemed to protrude even more the more he investigated them.

"Dougie..." Janey-E moaned. "You may be acting weird, but it's not all bad."

Then he looked down further at himself and the other. There he had a protrusion where the other had none. That was odd. He reached out both hands to investigate the flatness but there didn't seem to be room for that. So he used one hand. And he discovered a cavern. What might be inside? He investigated the cavern.

Janey-E put her arms around Cooper's shoulders to keep her trembling knees from giving out beneath her. "Dougie, oh Dougie..."

She reached down and took hold of his protrusion. That was surprising. Cooper took a step back and looked down. The protrusion was going from pointing down to pointing up. Was it supposed to do that? Would it go back down? He willed it to go back down and it did. Was it supposed to do that? Would it go back up? He willed it to go back up and it did. Best to try it a couple more times to make sure this was a consistent result. It was. Maybe he should tell D-.

"Dougie," Janey-E said.

But what about side to side? Would the protrusion go in those directions? Best to find out. Cooper willed it to go to the side and nothing happened. He screwed up his face and tried harder. He grunted with effort but still nothing happened. Maybe he should ask D-.

"Dougie!" Janey-E said sharply. "Will you keep that thing in an upright and locked position!"

"Position," said Cooper.

Janey-E giggled and swatted at him playfully. "You know I was a flight attendant before we got married. I am so sure we will find a position that will make you happy."

"You happy," said Cooper.

Now Janey-E grinned wickedly. "I am happy, but soon I'm going to be happier."

And with that, she drew him down on the bed.
