"Do you intend to doze all day sleep head?" The book that Miyuki has over his face was taken away by a pair of hands. The older man looked over from the corner of his eye and saw who it was that is speaking to him.
The leader managed to get up and was faced with the young guy's smiling face. Miyuki never got tired of seeing the smile on this person's face. It was like the sun but much brighter than the golden light in the sky.
"Sawamura," Miyuki said the man's name.
"It's time for you to get up. It's already noon." The man grabbed his glasses were on the table beside the couch and put it on.
The Bespectacled man looked around the living room and then his eyes went to the clock on the wall across from where he has been sleeping. He didn't realize how long he was asleep for.
Suddenly Miyuki heard a flash, and the next thing he knew was that Sawamura had taken a photo of him.
"What are you doing?" Miyuki asked, a yawn escaping from his lips.
"I'm making memories." Sawamura smiled.
"Why?"
"We might not be together in the future like this, so I want to take as many photos of everybody and you."
Miyuki just listened to his friend as he smiled talking about all about the photos, he was going to take of everybody.
"But I'm sure we will still be together, but I want to take pictures of the fun."
"I'm hungry," Miyuki mumbled.
"Well, you have been sleeping for a long today."
Miyuki kept looking at his friend. Something was off about this.
"You have to get off on your own next time. I won't always be around to wake you up."
"Sawamura."
Miyuki then saw Sawamura shift around to go. The older man got up quickly. Fear came into play, and Miyuki had to get a hold of Sawamura, but when he reached his hands to the golden boy, he disappeared into dust.
"Sawamura!" Miyuki cried out in pain
"Miyuki, are you okay? Miyuki opened his eyes and scanned the room he is in and realized that he had been dreaming.
"It was a dream." Miyuki pressed his hand to his head. "Of all the things why did I have to dream about him."
"So, you dreamed about Sawamura." Kuramochi was Miyuki's best friend, and he had been there for him ever since Sawamura vanished.
"You have to move on. It's been a year, and Sawamura is gone." What Kuramochi said was heart-breaking for him. It was hard for Miyuki to move on with his life.
"I know I should, but there is no possible way I can do that." Miyuki hit his fist on the coffee table next to the couch he was sleeping in. He hands plea of blood, but the man didn't care. "Sawamura should be here with all of us. He was the most who wanted us all to be happy, and that's why Sawamura took those photos but in the end."
"I know Miyuki. We will find his killer and make him regret what he did."
Kuramochi couldn't forget that day either.
They were here thinking of giving Sawamura a surprise birthday party, and that's when Miyuki got that call from him. It was shocking, and Miyuki started yelling at the phone, and everybody was wondering what was going on.
"Sawamura, where are you?" Miyuki called out his friend, but the voice on the other line was weak, and the bespectacled man fears for the worst.
"The sky sure look pretty tonight," Sawamura said.
"Where are you, Sawamura!" Miyuki yelled.
"I'm at a place where the sky is beautiful just like you are Miyuki."
"What are you saying?"
"I wish I could see you one last time, but that isn't possible. I was happy. I had fun with you, Kuramochi-senpai and everybody. I just wish I had more time."
"Sawamura."
"I should say something I never told you before. I love you." And that's when Miyuki could not hear Sawamura's voice anymore.
After that Miyuki ordered everybody to track Sawamura.
When they did find him, it was not a sight they wanted to see.
"This can't be." Kuramochi was the first to speak when they found Sawamura's body.
Sawamura was covered in blood around his chest. They could tell somebody had shot him and it wasn't just once.
"Sawamura-San." Seto had tears running down his face when he saw his senpai on the ground. It was not a sight that was coming for Sawamura.
"Who could have done this?" Okumura had a teardrop down his cheek who was not something he did.
Everybody sobbed for the golden boy.
Miyuki held Sawamura in his arms. He could feel the coldness of his body. The leader hoped for the golden boy to wake up with that loud voice of his and tell him something funny or even a joke. He wanted Sawamura to open his eyes and pretend it was a prank, but he wasn't waking up anytime soon.
"Sawamura." Even Miyuki cried his eyes out.
Miyuki was in a rage and wanted whoever did this to Sawamura dead.
The funeral wasn't a fun time. Miyuki's group was there and others close to Sawamura.
Narumiya's group were sad, but they did not cry because their leader wasn't. They didn't stay long since the blond couldn't handle them putting Sawamura' body in a coffin and sending it out to the sea.
"Miyuki, Kuramochi!" Watanabe ran into the living room where the two were sitting.
"Hold your horses! What's wrong?" Kuramochi asked.
"I found something."
"What do you mean?"
"I found a clue to what happened to Sawamura." Watanabe panted as he spoke.
"Tell us more," Miyuki said.
"We found somebody that knew Sawamura, and she mentions something interesting."
"Go on."
"Her name is Yoshikawa Haruno and from what she said. It looks like Sawamura was very troubled before he was killed."
"He showed none signs." Kuramochi and everybody knew that Sawamura was always cheerful and happy.
"Yoshikawa said that Sawamura would always come to her café but something was bothering him and when I asked what he told her."
"What did she say?" Miyuki asked.
"Sawamura said that he felt somebody was watching him."
"Watching him? You mean a stalked." Kuramochi didn't like that idea. "Who was the bastard who was stalking Sawamura?"
"That he didn't tell her, but Sawamura said to her that he was close to finding out. He told her that when this was over that, he would report it back to her."
"But he didn't get to," Miyuki said.
"One more thing she mentions was that he wanted to protect his friends."
"Us? Why?" Miyuki asked.
It seems like they had more research to do about why Sawamura was alone at that time before getting killed and why he was on the rooftop of the building.
Miyuki's group wasn't the only one who was looking for clues to Sawamura's death. Narumiya was with his group doing everything in their power to find the killer. The young man was an angel to them and was different from others. Sawamura talked to them even though they were enemies.
Narumiya was very fond of the younger man. That smile always lights made things right for them. The blood took out a photo from his drawer. It was with him and the sunshine boy.
Sawamura was the one who took it. He pretended that he was just looking at his phone while sitting next to Narumiya but took a random picture of them together.
"Sawamura." He mumbled.
"Why do you always come here?" Narumiya was annoyed how often that the brunet came to their place. The young man fit right in, and it was crazy.
"Is it bad for me to be here?"
"We're enemies."
"I don't think that matters." Sawamura smiled.
Sawamura was the type of person who didn't care if they were in different teams. The golden boy wanted to be friends with everybody.
"There lots of things I want to do before I die." Sawamura suddenly saying things that Narumiya didn't care about.
"Yea and what are that?" The blond asked.
"I want to take thousands of photos or even more." He smiled. "I want a place where I can put all of them together. I don't know if I can fit them all, but that's my goal."
"You're stupid," Narumiya told Sawamura.
"I know." Sawamura kept on smiling.
Sawamura never got to do that, and on that day at the funeral, he almost went crazy. He wanted to yell at Miyuki and his gang how they couldn't protect Sawamura even though they were that close to him, but he knew that it would just be him taking his anger on them when they didn't do anything wrong.
"Mei-san, I think it would be a good idea to speak with Miyuki."
"Why?" Narumiya asked.
"They might know what's going on." Itsuki always thought of what would be good but even if this would be a good idea. In Narumiya's head, he did not want to deal with Miyuki and his gang.
"Itsuki, I hope I heard wrong."
Itsuki knew how Narumiya was, and it was hard to please him.
When Sawamura was around the sunshine boy would somehow be able to make the blond agree with whatever he said.
Shirakawa entered the room. He had some news to share with the group.
"I ran into Seido, and they told me something interesting."
"What is it?" Narumiya asked. "And how did you even get them to tell you something."
"It was the younger Kominato and Furuya."
"Makes sense." Everybody nodded their head.
"So, what did they say?" Kamilya asked.
"Sawamura had a stalker."
Everybody was surprised when they heard that.
"Sawamura is cute so no wonder they would go for him," Narumiya said. "But I won't forgive somebody that hurt him."
It was late at night, and Haruichi and Furuya were doing a last-minute errand for his brother, and Furuya wanted to tag along and bought an ice-cream for himself.
Haruichi could still remember when Sawamura was around. It would have been the three of them doing errands if he was alive. The young male could still picture Sawamura here with them even stealing Furuya's ice-cream.
"It's not the same," Furuya said when he was about to take a bite of the ice-cream he bought.
"I know." Haruichi agreed.
When they saw the way, Sawamura's body was that day a year ago it was like a nightmare. That it wasn't happening, but they all knew it was the truth.
Everybody was happy that morning getting ready for Sawamura's birthday. Their friend was finally turning 21, and everybody was enjoying the day and preparing to see how the brunet would react to his surprise birthday, but it never happened. That call Miyuki got ruined it all, and it was the call they never wanted to get.
"Do you think he's watching over us?" Furuya asked. "I mean he is in heaven, right."
"Yea. I hope he is watching us. And if you are Eijun-kun and I promise that we will find the killer."
They finally arrived at their headquarters.
The group was lively but not like the way when Sawamura was there. The golden boy was the clue to hold everybody together.
Haruichi knows that everybody is still grieving over that loss of their sunshine.
The worst is Miyuki.
The man doesn't even want to look at the photo of his friend.
"Aniki, we're back," Haruichi announced.
"You can just put the things in the fridge."
Like the older Kominato said they did.
Everybody was in the living room except for Miyuki.
The man was in his room alone. He was thinking through a lot of things. Miyuki remembers what Sawamura told him about always being together. The brunet had figured they would still be together.
"In the end, it was you who left us." Miyuki can never get over Sawamura.
The last time that the golden boy told the bespectacled man was that he loved him. Miyuki could still remember the way Sawamura said that in that weak voice of his. That also when Sawamura's life had run out of time.
Miyuki loved Sawamura as much as he loved him. The leader wanted to say how much he cared, but he wouldn't get a chance anymore.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you that day."
Miyuki took out a small box from his side table drawer. The box was wrapped in a red cover and a blue ribbon. It was the present that he was going to give to Sawamura, but he never got the chance.
"What should I do with you now?"
Miyuki tried to throw it away but in the end, he couldn't because the man could still see the happy face when Sawamura received the gift in his head even though it's not real.
