Raw wasn't sure how they were going to get out of this one.
The deranged killer that had been rampaging through Central City had finally been caught. Or so they thought.
Turns out, they were the ones that were caught.
Apparently the killer didn't work alone. Raw could sense DG's distress, Glitch's confusion, and Cain's anger from here. The four of them had been surrounded, disarmed, and led off at gun point.
DG was helpless to do anything with her magic considering her three closest friends were being threatened. She couldn't guarantee the safety of all of them, and Raw could feel that she was upset about it.
The killer they were after liked to drug his victims with vapors, watch them go crazy, and then…well…he was a killer after all.
They were in some kind of dungeon, chained up in a row. Cuffs around their ankles, their wrists raised above their heads and suspended from the ceiling. Raw was trying to sense how much time they had to come up with something.
Not much. Unfortunately.
The killer was going to go after DG first.
Cain was glaring down the killer that was sitting calmly in the shadows. Glitch was staring lazily up at the ceiling, but Raw could tell he was calculating the strength of their restraints and any options of removing them.
At an impressive speed, Raw observed.
DG was trying to concentrate and focus on her light, but her hesitance was obvious to the Empath. Raw looked down the row and saw her face looking impassive. Her light slipped out of her focus and he saw her lip quiver in frustration.
Unfortunately the killer noticed too.
He stood suddenly, and took three long strides to come stand in front of DG. The chains rattled above Cain briefly. Dark, amused eyes glanced at him.
"Don't worry…You'll get your turn soon enough, Tin Man," he sneered. He turned back to DG. "Come, my pretty. You look so…distraught." He smiled maliciously. "How lovely."
He brushed a finger under her chin, and to DG's credit she didn't look away. She pulled her head back but did not stop glaring at the man in front of her. His smile lessened, and he reached for something in his pocket. He brought up the small bottle, that looked like it could be for perfume, and held it in front of DG's face.
"It's time for you to Taste the Rainbow, Princess…"
Out of all of the emotions swirling around the room, there was one that Raw was not expecting.
And that was pure, unadulterated, mirth.
DG's face flashed with a series of emotions before she finally snorted. The noise echoed like a gunshot in the room. Raw couldn't even process her leaps from fear to confusion to astonishment to everything else that followed before she started making strangled noises and…giggling?
The killer reared back at her response, but by now DG was near hysterics. The four men in the room stared at the perfume bottle, wondering if some had somehow leaked out early, but alas it hadn't.
"Pfffffffffffff HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" DG was laughing so hard the chains were the only thing supporting her weight.
She was suddenly filled with such joy and light that Raw was the only one not surprised when the killer was suddenly thrown across the room by an invisible force. He was pinned to the wall, similar to the position they were in.
DG stopped laughing and gasped for air as a small smile played on her lips. Her eyes burned with determination and the chains binding them clinked open. She advanced on the killer slowly, but turned to address her friends first.
"We are SO getting Skittles when we're done here…"
