A Menace Against Menaces
"She's a bloody menace."
"Not even a menace of the good sort."
"No. She's a menace against the menaces of society!"
"Aye, Brother. She is. She must be stopped."
"She must be stopped. But how?"
"She may be a menace, but we are menaces of a different league. We shall take her on and reign victorious!"
Fred and George paced through the Gryffindor Common Room, passing each other every time they turned around. Lines of first through third years watched them with rapt eyes and eager smiles.
"Umbridge has proved herself a problem."
"Not only to us, but to our Professors, our Headmasters, and Peeves, our mascot."
"She must be stopped. We have a plan, but you must all play your parts."
"Firsties!"
"Lee Jordan, over there has a bag."
"All of you, take four of the offered oddities. They are called Skiving Snackboxes. Hand them out to the other students in your class, house is no matter."
"When Umbridge steps foot into her classroom, you are all to take them simultaneously."
"Lee has instructions on their use. Follow them, and you shalt be heroes!"
"Second years!"
"Over here, we have a portable swamp."
"Upon our call, you are to release this onto the corridor where her office resides."
"We shall tell you when!"
"Third Years!"
"For you, we have the creme de la creme!"
"Fanged Frisbee's, Dungbombs, and various other mischief causing mayhem! Step forward and recieve your goodies!"
"And all of you!"
"Remember!"
"DO NOT!"
"GET CAUGHT!"
Dean, Seamus and Neville sat watching in amusement, as the first through third years followed their orders.
"It's like a military opperation," Dean commented, laughing.
Fred and George turned around with grins on their faces.
"What's a military?"
"And where do we get one?"
The revolution against Dolores Umbridge was not an easily led one. With every trick the twins threw at her, she come back harder and with more venom. Yet, they never gave up. As it became obvious that she was not going to give in, they decided to leave their troops with a finale that they would never forget, one that would hopefully encourage them to keep up the resistance.
Fireworks exploded around the castle in a carefully timed attack. Bright lights and loud noises proved to unhinge the vindictive toad far more then the boys had anticipated, but they enjoyed the reaction regardless. That in the end, it was the cause for their departure did not phase the boys, as they knew they were leaving behind a legacy that would outlive them by many generations.
That it gave their troops the morale to continue the war they'd begun was just a bonus.
