A loud crash rang in the ears of a young woman as she approached the outside of the Fire Lord's study. A curse word escaped the young man's lips and he bent over to pick up the items he carelessly cast onto the floor. Papers, an ink bottle, letters and an opener littered the floor around him. A gentle knock rapped on the door as her delicate but slightly scarred hands tapped on the wooden door in front of her. After approval the woman stepped in, revealing herself. The servant had long dark brown hair that reached just above the small of her back, her hair had been pulled into a loose french braid and her brown eyes were adverted down to the ground respectfully. Her skin was about two shades darker then the average fire nation girl, but maybe that's because she didn't belong to the fire nation. She was a member of one of the outlying cities of the Northern Water tribe, though her brown eye color and darker hair had made her blend into the role of a servant easier then any other assassins would have. She held a tray in one hand with a kettle and a china teacup.
"I've brought the Jasmine Tea you requested Sir." She spoke softly, playing her part well. For now she'd stay respectful, keep her peace.
"Just set it down over there." Zuko pointed over at a table that was now clear of pretty much everything that had been on it. He continued to pick up the papers hastily. "Well, help me." He said hardly, motioning to his own mess that he'd created in anger.
The girl bit her tongue and hurried to assist the Fire Lord. She picked up the papers in a hurried manner and organized them the best she could have. Oh, how she would be glad when this job was over. She cleaned them up and bowed her head as she stood up.
Zuko let out a long sign and ran his hand over his pinned back hair. "I'm sorry, I'm just a bit temperamental. I made the mess out of anger and I should have cleaned it up."
The girl's thin eyebrows furrowed together as she dared to look up at his face. She didn't expect him to apologize to a servant for anything, much less telling them to do their job. She knew what she was about to say was out of line, but then again she wasn't really a servant right?
"What made you so angry?" She placed her hands in front of her, interlocking them together.
"I-uh" Zuko was caught off guard by her asking that question. "I'm just stressed out, and I've always had a pretty short fuze." He admitted, thinking about all the times he'd lost his temper and was too quick with his actions. The memories caused him to flinch a little bit he shook it off. "And I've not been sleeping as well." He suddenly started to ramble on and start telling his problems to this girl who he'd thought was just a servant. By the end of it she thought that killing him might actually do him a service. The weight of being the leader of an entire nation was getting to him a bit. "I've dealt with all this before though," he nodded, "and I'm just going to try and sleep somewhere peaceful tonight. Maybe sleep outside with the stars to accompany me." The girl suddenly really focused on what he was saying.
"Sounds like a great idea your Highness. Take some time with just you and the universe." She smiled a sort of devious smile, hoping he would take the bait. If he did and he went to stay outside without protection she'd be able to strike.
Zuko considered the idea and agreed. "That sounds peaceful. Now if you'll leave me with my tea I have work to finish before my evening off." The girl turned to leave the room, her braid flicking behind her as she did so. "Oh, wait! What is your name?" He asked softly.
"Mitzu." She told him before closing the door behind her. There was no point in lying about her name as the precious Fire Lord would be dead in the morning.
