Once she felt the shard of ice deep within her chest, she understood. After many antagonizing years of doors locked before her face, she understood. After Elsa's reluctance to welcome Hans into the castle, she understood. Even after her deceased parents forbid her older sister to come out and play, she understood. As to why Elsa didn't make an appearance at their parents' funeral, she understood. Though she felt the ice crowd over her vision and numb her nerves, she understood.
