The ED had hired out the whole pub to celebrate a certain blonde Nurse's birthday.

Rita had a pink tiara in her short cropped hair, a pink banner wrapped around her chest announcing she was the 'birthday girl' and a drink in both hands

She had finally made her way to the dance floor, her eyes widening as she looked amazed at the individual who had just entered the room.

It was none other than Mrs Beauchamp.

"Connie?!" Rita laughed, running on her slightly wobbly legs across the dance floor across to her boss.

"What are you doing here?" Rita quirked her eyebrows, seeing a small gift bag in Connie's hand.

"Well, I heard it was my favourite Nurse's birthday so I thought I would make an appearance." Connie smiled, handing the gift over to Rita who accepted it gratefully.

"I thought Connie Beauchamp didn't come to the pub." Rita grinned, Connie brushing hair out of her face as people started to stare and point at her.

"Well I thought I'd make an exception for someone so special." Connie bit her lip, pulling Rita over to the side of the dance floor.

"Are you flirting with me Constance? Because I am very drunk, and not entirely responsible for what might happen if you continue." Rita looked Connie up and down, who did nothing to discourage Rita's thinking.

"You do look rather beautiful in that dress." Connie continued to advance onto Rita who now had her back against the wall. "Are you going to open your present or not?" Connie asked, a smile tugging at her lips.

Rita was breathing deeply, nodding as she pulled a key out of the bag.

"There's a room upstairs if you want to join me." Connie raised her eyebrows.

"What, and leave my own party?" Rita pretended to be shocked.
"You think anyone is sober enough to miss you?" Connie had a point, her perfume causing Rita's heart to keep doing back flips.

"So…" Connie questioned, Rita taking her hand and pulling her up the stairs.

Their lips attaching to one another's and not leaving the others until the early morning when they realised, even when they were sober, they were so deeply in love they couldn't imagine spending the rest of their life with anyone else.
