Steam
clouded the platform Victoire stood on, relishing her last few
school-free moments. Around her children ran and shouted excitedly at
each other, but nowhere could she see her friends. They
must already be on the train ,
she thought to herself, and she made her way over to her parents to
say goodbye until she was suddenly interrupted.
"Hello,
Victoire," came a voice from behind her.
"Teddy!"
she exclaimed. "What are you doing here?"
He
blushed and ran his fingers through his navy blue hair.
"Looking
for you, of course." Oh right. He was probably missing his
Beater's bat that she'd borrowed from him in the holidays.
She
rooted around in her battered old bag for it, embarrassed that she
had not already returned it, and slightly annoyed as it meant she now
had no excuse for meeting him in Hogsmeade- she probably wouldn't see
him again until Christmas!
"Are
you alright?" She nodded half-heartedly in response to his
sudden question.
"It's
just," Victoire began, "I think I'm going to miss you."
And to her total and probably ever-lasting mortification, she burst
into tears.
"Hey,
it's OK," Teddy murmured as he led her away from the crowds, and
her patted her crimson hair awkwardly. "You'll have a Hogsmeade
visit soon, and I could come up and meet you, if you like," he
offered shyly.
Victoire
sniffed delicately, so like her mother. "I'd like that,"
she replied, smiling through her last few straggling tears.
Teddy
examined her face with interest, admiring the striking combination of
Veela genes and Weasley hair that made Victoire Weasley so
captivating to him. Her pale eyes watched him carefully, as if she
was unsure of what would happen next. He put his hand to her cheek to
wipe away the last remaining tear.
This
would not have been a problem if she had not moved her head at the
last moment, but she did, meaning that Teddy instead ended up
brushing her lips softly with his hand.
"Sorry
about that," they both apologised in unison, and laughed at the
happy coincidence.
A
silence fell between them as they made eye contact, and Teddy took a
step towards her. He leant forwards and kissed her in the same place
his fingers had been moments before, and they continued in this
fashion until...
"Teddy!"
Victoire sighed as her cousin appeared before her, an evil grin
spreading across his face before he ran back to the rest of the
family practically cackling with childish delight.
"Just
wait until I tell Auntie Fleur!"
