The first gunshot was drowned out by the fireworks.

I was always just your big sister, but to me you were much more than a little brother. You never realised that, I guess it's better that way. I'm getting out your life now, you won't have to worry about me. You have your independence now, you don't need me anymore, you never did.

The note fluttered to the ground as another firework lit up the now dull green eyes, the blonde pigtails and the bullet hole that marred the pale temple.

The second was clearly audible.
