The classroom was the quintessential kindergarten room. Brightly colored, and smelling faintly of both disinfectant and urine.

Dani was close to hyperventilating as she, Santana, and Rachel walked their oldest son into the school. Santana and Dani held on to Dakota's hands, and Rachel carried the baby. Along with the normal "First Child Off To School" nerves, she was hyper aware of the stares their trio was getting. They'd warned the teacher, of course, but it's not every day you see a triple dropping a kid off for school, rather than a couple or a single parent. They'd met the other parents in their son's class at Meet the Teacher Night, but this was their first time encountering the rest of the school.

"Welcome to class, Dakota!" Miss Szalat said. "You can put your backpack and lunchbox in your cubby. Do you remember where you sit?"

"At the red table," Dakota announced at once. It had been all he'd talked about all weekend. Red was his favorite color.

Dani helped him get situated at his seat. She noticed a few of the parents still giving them odd looks, but she knew it was going to take a while for this to sink in. A huge Discworld fan, she reminded herself of a quote from Lord Vetinari:

"What is normal? Normal is yesterday, and the day before, and the day before, all taken together."

As Dani gave Dakota a kiss on the cheek, she really hoped normal would roll around in a few days. "Be good and have fun," she said, giving him another kiss.

"Okay, Mommy!"

Dani waited by the door while her wives rained kisses down on their son, and felt herself calm when she heard one of the other kids say,

"Wait, you get three mommies? Lucky!"

The three of them walked out of the school, and Dani managed to make it to the car before a few tears fell.

"Aww, babe. We've still got the poopy munchkin," Santana said, nodding to the back where Rachel was sitting with the baby.

"What if he doesn't like it there?" Dani asked, trying very hard not to sound like a crazy person. "What if the kids are mean to him?"

Santana shrugged. "We'll get Uncle Blaine to teach him how to throw a punch."

"Santana!" Rachel said. She leaned up to give Dani a kiss on the cheek. "Don't worry, I'm sure he's going to love it."
