After her family left her sight, Rose Granger-Weasley walked out of her compartment with Albus Potter right behind her. She had no intention of sitting the whole trip - there were friends to be made, things to learn, and people to impress onboard the train.
"Where are we going?" whispered Albus, seeming frightened as his eyes fluttered to each door the two passed and back to his cousin again.
"To find other kids our age," she declared, just as she stopped in front of a door that was slightly open. She looked through the crack for a second, and then drew back with a satisfied smile on her face. "These are first years!"
"Rose, wait - "
Rose did not wait. She pushed open the door and smiled. "Hi, I'm Rose! Who are you?"
Albus had a more downcast look on his face as tried to hide behind her frizzy-haired form. The kids sitting in the compartment didn't look too pleased, either.
"Rose Weasley?" one platinum-blond boy asked, his face completely void of emotion.
"Rose Granger-Weasley, actually. Oh! And you must be Scorpius. Malfoy, right?"
"Er, yes?"
"My father said to beat you in everything. I'm not sure why, but he doesn't like you," she said, head tilted in a confused manner. Albus face-palmed.
Scorpius cracked a dry smile. "What a coincidence. My father said the same thing."
"That's queer. Do you know why they don't like each other?"
"You mean you don't know?"
"Maybe because of the war?"
"Oh. You have a lot to learn."
"I do?"
"Yeah. But don't worry," Scorpius slung an arm around her and directed her to a spot in the compartment that was empty. His friends moved to let her sit. "I'll teach you."
Albus sighed and left.
this sucks. apologies, i'm still in a writers block. but i still had to do something for nineteen years later. today, rose, albus, and scorpius board the hogwarts express for the first time. obviously, this is not cc compliant. i kinda hated the cursed child.
harry potter is one of my two main fandoms. it's my life, kinda. and this day is really important to me. today, next-gen starts. the hp legacy starts.
dang, i just find that amazing.
hopefully rose, albus, and scorpius have a lovely (non-cursed child) time at hogwarts. let their adventure start!
