Chapter 1

Author's Notes

Hello fellow Ninjago fans! Brief background: this is my first story, so it may not be perfect. Please review so I can improve the story for you!

This is what I think should happen after Lloyd defeated the Overlord, and it has nothing to do with the new "Rebooted" season.

So read, review, and I hope you enjoy!

I do not own Ninjago, but I own my OC's.

(Cole's POV)

994. As I do my bench presses, I think about what's happened since the Final Battle.

995. Nothing much. Zane's been acting a little weird, but I guess that's normal.

996. Lloyd, Misako, and Garmedon have been catching up, and Sensei's been spending a lot of time in his room. I'm not sure why, but I think he's avoiding Misako.

997. Jay and Nya finally have some time to go out on real dates, so they aren't around the Bounty most of the time.

998. Kai usually locks himself up in the video game room, trying to beat everyone's high scores. However, when he's not doing that, he goes in the kitchen, or wherever there isn't anybody, and sings. He thinks no one can hear him, but we all do. He's actually not bad. I just wonder why he does it.

999. Dr. Julien has been really helpful… maybe a little too helpful. He always knows how to fix everything, but sometimes it gets annoying.

1000. Me? I've just been working out. I don't want to get flabby if another mission happens to show up. As team leader, I need to set an example for the other members. Sometimes I'll head into the kitchen to make one of my signature soups, but no one seems to be hungry when I do.

I place the weight behind my head on the rack and make my way to the bridge. Nya is rapidly typing and looking up at the map of Ninjago. She looks confused.

"Hey, Nya. What's going on?"

She doesn't seem to take notice of me, but she starts muttering to herself.

"No, that can't be right. I thought… Oh no."

She quickly spins around and lets out a little scream.

"Cole!" she snaps at me, "Could you give a little warning next time you come in?" I open my mouth to respond, but she cuts me off. "Never mind, call the ninja!"

I don't take the time to ask why. Nya seems to be in a touchy mood. I run down the hall to find my team. First I look in the video game room. Sure enough, Kai is there.

"Hey Kai! Get down to the bridge! Nya wants to see us!"

"Just… one… more… second…" Kai says as his virtual character jumps over a Venomari Serpentine.

"No, now." I reach down and unplug the TV.

"NOOO!" Kai shouts. "I was just about to beat Jay's score!" He scowls at me as he heads to the bridge.

As I walk down the hall, I see Lloyd coming out of the kitchen.

"Oh hey Cole! What's up?"

"Nya has something to tell us." I reply.

"Ok," he says as he starts toward the bridge.

Next I check the guys' bedroom. Just as I open the door, Zane is standing there.

"Aaah!" I let out a startled yell. "Man, Zane, don't do that!"

"I sense Nya has something urgent to tell us?"

"Yeah, get down to the bridge. You too, Jay."
