"You need to feed." Regina says nonchalantly as she walks at a leisurely pace behind me.
I shake my head violently from side to side. Trying desperately to get away from her. Try desperately to find a warm place until the pain in my body finally decided to subside. "I can't. I can't do that..."
"Them or you Emma."
"Why'd you do this to me?"
"If you don't feed you will die. That simple." She says matter of factly while ignoring my question.
"I can't kill anyone Regina. I won't." I coughed, shivered, and gritted my teeth at the pain that plagued my body. My chest moved violently up and down as I struggled to breath. The pain in my feet intensified as I stumbled down a vacant alley. The unpleasant sensation went from my toes, to my ankles, and up my calves.
Blonde tresses clung to my face – cold and cutting, the bleak wind penetrates through the jacket that adorned my upper torso. The achromatic night hovered over me, taunting those that had no safe haven to return to – in which those destitute of a home sought refuge wherever they could.
"That's how you survive now Emma. How we survive." She still follows me. Persistent bitch that one - can't leave well enough alone.
Again I shake my head from side to side. "I won't kill anyone...I can't. Isn't there like an alternative?"
"There are... Other options but, your too weak for that. You need human blood. Besides what's the point of being immortal if you aren't going to enjoy the perks?"
"And that would be?"
She smirks. A devilish smirk that irritates me. "Let me show you?"
"Regina... No."
"Henry."
I groan. "Don't."
"I'm running out of patience. And you, my dear, are running out of time."
Within a second she's on me. With a strength I never knew she had she snatches my arm and a loud pop follows. I scream. A horrible, loud, and pained scream. Excruciating pain throbs throughout my body.
I stumble a bit and reach for Regina but she's gone. How? No clue. Where? To hell if I'm lucky. But, twenty eight years alone is a clear example of my misfortune.
"Miss Swan." I jump at the sound of her voice behind me. The pain in my arm quickly grabs my attention though. Yelling at me to be acknowledged. "I found you a bit of a snack."
"I said no." I turn to look at her and my stomach lurches. Growls at the beautiful meal she practically throws at my feet.
Eyes darken. Anger skips about her features. "You should to be a little more god damn grateful. If you don't feed you'll die. You die Henry is devastated. I will not have that. If it were completely up to me I'd let you freeze to death out here and not think twice about it."
"I just..."
"I'm not above forcing his blood down your damn throat." She snatches the poor guys head back. Neck exposed. "Eat up dear and all your pain goes away. That arm of yours will pop back into place. The pain in your chest stops. Everything will feel better... I promise."
She's says it and I believe her.
She says it and I long for the pain to stop.
She says it and I... Do it.
