They were my Life…
I was under the impression that Pedro Hernandez hired a sniper instead of doing it himself.
Shannon Gibbs grumbled as Kelly lagged behind.
"Do we have to have this stupid guard all the time?" she snarled, dragging her backpack along the ground. "He doesn't do anything and that Agent Franks, man is he one creepy dude."
Agent Etherington smiled at this remark, knowing if he said that, he'd be head slapped so hard his family would be feeling it for decades.
"Kelly, get in the car for Christ's sake," Shannon was impatient with her daughter. She silently cursed herself for committing blasphemy.
"Yes mom," Kelly began a sulk that would go on for hours if she didn't calm the girl down.
"We could get ice cream on the way back from your recital," encouraged Shannon. Kelly nodded, still bitter about the protection detail, she wasn't a baby.

The sniper had been paid to shoot; the sniper had been paid to kill. He sat atop the hill waiting for the Gibbs' car to pass by. He knew that there was a protection detail and he also knew that they would definitely be coming this way to Kelly's piano recital. He looked down towards the road and saw the car approaching.

"I wish daddy was here to see this," sighed Kelly. "At least Grandpa Jack will be seeing me!"
"He set out five minutes ago Kelly, he'll be here in time for your piece," said Shannon. The glass of the passenger seat window splintered as a bullet struck Agent Etherington in the left temple. Blood covered the windscreen as the car kept going, a dead man's foot on the pedal. The road was several metres above the next road and Shannon was certain they'd go over at the sharp turn approaching.
"Kelly, brace yourself, this is really going to hurt," said Shannon. The car smashed into the barrier, throwing them forward like ragdolls then as the car fell they felt a brief feeling of weightlessness. Then came the brutal impact. Kelly's head was tossed backwards and hit the back of the seat with such force that her skull and spine were instantly cracked like eggs. She gave the world a look of resentment and then fell forward, her head between her legs. Shannon had escaped with minor injuries so far and stared in horror at the corpse of her daughter.
"Jethro!" she wailed. She didn't see the minivan plough into the side of the car. She was thrown headfirst onto the other seat, brutally snapping her neck and then the car hurtled into the hill.

Leroy Jethro Gibbs was called to his commanding officer that day for no reason whatsoever as he felt it.
"I'm sorry Gunny, they're both dead," he said upfront.
"They weren't just a part of my life, they were my life," Gibbs let himself shed a tear before growling in revenge and screaming 'no'. He dashed out of the building, clutching his gun, straight into the bomb field…
God that was fun to write. See you all after my holiday!
