A/N: It came to me in one of my many moments of pathetic-ness. I was sitting at the computer watching Bleach until 11:30 New Years Eve. Then my dad yelled at me and I watched T.V. with them and this came to me. No beta for this one so any grammatical/paragraphing mistakes are mine.
Temperance Brennan did not know much about holiday traditions or having fun. But, New Years Eve always made her stop work and watch her T.V. and count down with New York. So when Booth asked if she'd like to go to Manhattan with him, no thought was necessary.
He drove them to their hotel, silently amazed and pleased she had gone with him. The desk clerk smiled understandingly and handed Booth the keys. She wasn't even mad that they had to share a room.
Angela had squealed once, and then fallen over in excitement. Luckily Hodgins caught her grinning ruefully. He waved them off assuring Bones that her friend would be fine.
Brennan was too happy to think about that. She practically dragged Booth to find a good spot to worth being shoved, stepped on, cursed and hit on because all the while Bones was smiling. It never faded once even when the streets were overcrowded and the terrible singers screeched out songs.
And Booth decided that Brennan definitely belonged there. People person or not, she fit in perfectly with the group.
When she watched the ball drop, he watched her count down. When the people around them kissed one another, Booth found himself following in suit. To his surprise she kissed back.
Yes, he decided, it was worth all the other stuff to see her happy.
