"Shit!"
I lifted my head at the sudden curse. I was instantly on my feet, rushing toward the distressed Kai (actually he wasn't distressed, he was angry, cussing at his hand as if it were a person) with a sudden flurry of worry.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Paper cut," the stoic team deadpanned, staring at the small slice on the surface of his skin. Somehow he managed to slice his palm…it wasn't bleeding too much, but I knew how much paper cut's stung.
"Run it under cold water," I instructed. I watched in horror as he slowly lifted his hand to his lips. I dove toward him, slapping his injured hand away in irritation.
"Kai! That's seriously unhealthy and gross!" I scolded. He shot me a famous Kai-glare. "Don't give me that look. I know what I'm doing, now wash that cut."
"What are you, my mom?" he spat, angrily yanking at the kitchen faucet and shoving his hand under the water, mumbling curses.
"I might as well be."
"Well that'd be weird; I'd be fucking my mom."
"Kai!" I shouted. "Language!"
"Sure, mom."
"You're such a baby…what were you doing anyway?"
"Doing the paperwork for the next tournament."
"Oh…this early?" I asked, glancing at the clock. It was barely five. "Training starts in an hour."
"Yeah," he turned the water off. I handed him a towel and he dabbed at his wet hand.
"Are you always up this early?"
"Hn."
"Kai! You need sleep!" I scolded. I really did feel like his mom. "It's not healthy."
"Hn."
"Gee, stop grunting!" I shouted in exasperation. "Come here."
He glared at me wearily. "No."
"Come here," I repeated firmly.
"….why?" he growled out.
"Just do it!"
"No."
"Why not? I won't do anything weird!"
"….no."
"My gawd, you're such a baby! C'mere."
He continued to stare but slowly moved, eventually making his way toward where I sat at the kitchen table. I shuffled his paper since he was taking his sweet time walking over. I put the papers down and turned to him when he finally stopped in front of me.
"What?" he said, growling at me like he always did.
"Kneel down."
"….no way in hell."
"Kai."
He rolled his eyes but obeyed. We were at eye level. I grinned and reached out, my hands gently touching his face, fingertips moving slowly up his cheeks and brushing along his hairline and over his ears. His eyes fluttered, as if resisting the urge to let them close peacefully. I could tell my gentle ministrations were making him sleepy. I had magic hands like that. (XD)
I slowly used one hand to lift his injured hand, and I pressed my lips to his cut, tongue sliding across the scar. Kai didn't flinch, but his eyes were open and staring directly at me. I released his hand and gently kissed his mouth, my other hand still stroking his face.
"Sleep," I whispered against his lips when I pulled back slightly.
"Hn."
I smiled. "You have an hour to nap. I'll tuck you in."
Something in his eyes flashed. "Alright."
Somehow, I had a feeling we weren't going to do any napping…
Author's Corner: Don't you love my crappy ending? XD
