Shame Destruction Despair
My state is dissolved; our homeland destroyed.
Expulsion; the poor line the streets.
My pride kept me silent.
Omission's my guilt.
If I could go back...
Alas, it's too late
Pain Agony Anguish
Nothing remains, all is gone.
I'm drowning in pain.
It will only increase.
No power can save me
I must die.
Fear Anxiety Dread
Every night I thrash and weep.
Death will not be peaceful
It will not be sleep
I open my eyes
And find I still live
Love Pity Comfort
Sad smiles are all they can give.
These emotions are false,
I see grief in their eyes.
And what is the cause
But myself.
Brother Son Beloved
Soon to be broken with grief
Time cannot heal.
It cannot forgive.
Crushed by the guilt
Always blaming himself.
Ask Plead Beg
For innocence's sake, they can't know.
Be ready, live life,
Let time run it's course.
Still I must wait,
I must suffer.
