What Ryoga Missed on the Koi Rod Instructions
Ryoga Hibiki was busy going through the things he had stored in his pack. He had a bit of a… well… problem wasn't quite the word for it. It was more of a worry. Ranma had been acting strangely ever since the koi rod incident, even though it had been resolved. It was nothing major, merely a glance here, a slip of the tongue there, and a slight rise in flirtatious behaviour with one scheme or another as an excuse. He was hoping he might find a solution, or at least an explanation buried in his pack. Eventually, he found what he was searching for, the instructions to the koi rod.
'Let's see now,' he thought. 'I followed the instructions to the letter, which caused the problem to begin with. Where's the reversal instructions?' he read further down the page, then flipped it over when he didn't see it. 'That's strange. Shouldn't they tell you how to reverse it in case you get the wrong person?' He then searched every inch of the paper, looking for an answer and dreading the truth that was slowly coming to light. He then saw a little caption that said 'Warning'. Ah, the famous fine print.
"Warning," he read aloud, "users must be 100 certain of their intent as this product tends to latch onto those compatible with or who are interested in the caster. Effects are… permanent… regardless of disappearing marks. Second casting on the same subject will merely result in the suppression, not destruction, of… amorous… feelings."
'Oh, crap,' he thought. 'What have I done?'
