Chapter 1

The sound of crushing leaves filled her ears as she ran through the bushes. Constantly looking around for any sign of her pursuer the orange-colored cat tripped and fell out of the bush into the open garden.

"Where is she?" The orange cat huffed.

"Found you, Squirrelpaw!" yelled another cat. Before Squirrelpaw could turn around a ball of brown and black fur jumped on her, causing her to tumble to the ground.

"You're it squirrelpaw." Said the other cat triumphantly.

"Great you found me, but do you have to jump on me Leafpaw!" questioned Squirrelpaw.

"Sorry" Leafpaw replied while stepping off Squirrelpaw.

With a playful squeal, Squirrelpaw jabbed Leafpaw in the shoulder and yelled; "Now you're it."

Leafpaw looked up with confused eyes, which soon cleared to show joy, and ran after her sprinting sister, "That wasn't fair Squirrelpaw!"

With a giggle Squirrelpaw replied, "Don't be so gullible!"

By the time Leafpaw caught up with her sister it was time for the two of them to go in for dinner. When the two of them enter the kitchen they saw their food bowls were filled to the rim with fish.

"YAY! Tonight we have fish!" Squealed Leafpaw.

The two cats ran toward their bowls as their father approached.

"Eat up this all for tonight, girls. After dinner go straight to bed. Tomorrow we're going to the vet."

"I don't wanna go to the vet!" Whined the two kittens simultaneously.

"Oh well, we're going to the vet. End of discussion!" Commanded their father, Firestar.

"Ohh but, dad-!" complained Squirrelpaw.

"End of discussion!" her father bellowed.

Before Squirrelpaw could speak Leafpaw whispered, "Don't bother Squirrelpaw, you know nothing will change daddy's mind. We'll just have to deal with it. Maybe momma will get us some fish if we're good this time."

Squirrelpaw was still unhappy with her father's decision to go to the vet. She'll never forget the first time she went.
