Internal Struggle:

My memories are so scattered,

I was so young back then.

That one fateful, snowy night

Was the first memory I ever had of you.

You were a vampire

Yet also my savior and support. 1

I admired you from afar

And hid my feelings of affection away.

Then I met him

A hunter, wounded, eyes blazing with hatred. 2

I was upset

Saddened by the fact his family was dead

I tried to show him my support

Despite the hardships he had to endure with.

Yet I later learned the dark truth

Of his actual nature.

He was a vampire as well

And he hated himself for it. 3

Time and time again, he wanted me to kill him

But I struggled and tried to tell him I'd support him as much as possible. 4

Yet once we did the unforgivable

We both knew there was no turning back. 5

I tried to help you the best I could

To tame the beast within you.

But when I was told about my real identity

I found it difficult to swallow. 6

And now that I know who I really am

You resented me, and he did not.

Though you showed concern for me,

I don't know what to do any longer.

Why must fate be so cruel?

Who do I really care about the most?

The one who saved me year ago, my ancestor?

Or the hunter, turned beast, who struggles to keep sane?

What causes my heartstrings to be pulled?

Is it destiny or fate?

1 – The first line is in reference to chapter 1 of the first volume of Vampire Knight, in the very beginning of the chapter.

2 – This part is mainly when Kiryuu Zero comes in (in reference to Yuuki's memory of him when she first saw him).

3 – This is near the end of the third night (ch. 3) of the first volume and the second line is in reference to the start of the fourth night (ch. 4) when Kaname told and then asked Zero, "You devoured her mercilessly. She can't even stand up. Was her blood so…delicious?"

4 – This line is in reference to the last few parts in night four of the first volume of Vampire Knight

5 – That was when Yuuki and Zero committed just one of the ultimate vampire taboos, by letting Yuuki use her blood to help Zero.

6 – This is in reference to the fifth/sixth volume of Vampire Knight. (I can't remember which one exactly, nor the chapter as well).
