CHAPTER 1
JAIL
It was a hot summers morning at the Mobotropolis Mens Prison and everyone was out in the gym training up for the day ahead. Everyone but one.
Alone in Cell C16, sat Shade, a white hedgehog with red stripes in his quills. His eyes were bloodshot and he had a bit of stubble around his mouth. He wore an army jacket with the words 'Death will find you!' on the back, he wore combat trousers and sneakers similar to Shadow the Hedgehog's.
He just sat there silently, thoughts rushing through his head, like an impossible puzzle. "How the fuck did I get here?" He asked himself. His voice was shaky, but nobody really cared for him, not after the crimes he committed. But they were nothing compared to his most recent crime.
"How the fuck did you get here?" A voice from beside him repeated. Shade slowly turned his head towards the green lion sitting beside him on the bed.
Shade stood up and faced the lion with an annoyed look on his face. "I didn't ask you Derek!" He growled. The green lion just shrugged. "Hey, don't get pissy at me just because I have to go through this shit with you again!" He spoke calmly.
Shade looked at the laid-back lion in confusion. "There're two things I don't get. One..." He held up a finger. "how you can be so relaxed about being in prison. Two..." He stuck up another finger. "how I got in here for something I did, which I didn't even know I did!"
Derek just shrugged again. "Hey, don't blame me about it, you signed up for the deal with Arach!"
"Yeah, but how was I supposed to know he would get me in here eh? Answer that!" He said with an out-of-breath tone. Derek remained silent. "Yeah, that's what I thought!" Shade mumbled to himself as he leaned back on the chair remembering what had happened...
Wow, tough time for him eh? Next chapters explain what he went through.
