why?
chapter 1
I walk into the bathroom to run a bath. todya is the 31st of october which means its the day before the reaping. i walk out of the bathroom and into my bedroom to lay out pajamas for my siblings, i have 5 siblings james,harley,alexa,rachel and danny. james is 20, so he isnt elegable for the reaping, he works almost all day except tomorrow and the next few weeks, beacuse of the hunger games, they get all day off tomorrow for the reaping and during most of the hunger games this anoys me because we need all the money we can get. harley is 15 1 year older than me. he almost never talks to me or the rest of us, i dont know why. i think today he is in the reaping ball 4 times it could be more i dont know if he sighned up for tesserae he would let me do it for him, i do it for everyone else since i was 12 i would put my name in there 4 times 1 for me 1 for alexa 1 for rachel and 1 for james, james didnt like me doing this but he excepted it. alexa is 7 so she isnt in the reaping , thank god, and wont be for 5 years. i would hate it if she got picked she is so lovely and sweet and always puts a smile on my face. rachel is 12 so its her first year in the reaping, i didnt let her take tesserae, so her name is only on one slip of paper 1 in thousands the odds are in her favour. just like harley she barley speaks but for a different reason and in a different way, harley just ignores us and leaves when we try to talk to him, but rachel she clocks out and really dosnt notice we are here. on rare occasions when somthing bad is happening, happened or about to happen she speaks in a worried tone and we look at her in shock cause she is noticeing us but she seems unfased like she dosnt know she clocks out , tomorrow and through the hunger games she normally speaks alot but about nothing happy just sad or bad things, this morning she talked non stop about how she would miss us if either me or harley got picked or if she got picked alexa told to not say that she always stays positive...except in her sleep she dosnt notice but she cries her eyes out. danny is 4 but 2 years ago my mother and father got offered a job in district 2 but they couldnent bring all of us so they waited until james was 18 and left with danny.
i feel like i have no family now, danny looked like me he had the same hazsel eyes and dark brown hair. james has black hair and gray eyes , rachel has ginger hair and green eyes alexa has strawberry blonde hair with blue eyes and harley has blone hair and bluey-green eyes. my mother has ginger hair and green eyes and my father has blonde hair and blue eyes.
i walk back into the bathroom turn the tap off and step into the water. i lie in the bath and wonder how many times i am in the reaping i count on my fingers and realise i am in there only 16 times what was i worried about there are thousands of children in district 9 and some are really poor and have to put there name in loads ofn times so my chances are slim...but i have a bad feeling and rachel only talks when somthing bad is about to happen maybe i will get picked.
