Sync's P.O.V

I was out with Legretta when Arietta comes running my way in a hurry. Her expression was grim, but I kept a straight face under my mask when she got to me.

"Sync? Sync! Where are, oh! There you are! Van needs to talk to you. He wouldn't tell-"

"Shut up, Arietta! Do you realize how much you blab? Just take me to Van so I can get this over with." I said with an agitated tone in my voice. Arietta looked up at me with sad eyes near the verge of tears, and I got this guilty feeling inside me that I only get around her..

"Ok.. Follow me…" she said.

We walked in silence for a while, then we finally reached Van's door. I can hear Van, and another voice that doesn't sound like Black Lion. When I walked through the door, my expression changed from eagerness to disgust. I see Luke Fon Fabre in a chair in front of Van.

"There you are, Sync. I just so happen to have your mission here in front of you. Luke, wait outside with Arietta?" He stood up slowly, then walked out the door.

"What the heck is he doing here?! And what do I have to do with my mission that involves him?!" I yelled. Van knows how fast my moods will change, so he waited till I was calm.

"Your mission is to act as an ally, then report to us on their doings. Arietta will be with you also." He said with a happier tone in his voice. He went on and on, then I just agreed with what he said, warily.

A few days later…

We were walking with Luke (ugh! It hurts to even say or think his name!) and we stop at a camp with about 5 people. I recognize all of them right away. Jade the Necromancer, Anise Tatalin, Tear Grants (Van's younger sister), and Guy Cecile. Arietta has to hold my arm so I don't try to lunge at them and kill them. Then Tear has to speak up.

"Where have you been?! We were worried sick! And who are these two? We can't have 2 more lives to handle. Our lives are enough! And you just decide to add 2 more to our plate?!"

I herd small sniffling coming from behind me, and I get this sharp pain in my heart, just from hearing it. I turn around to see Arietta crying. Then I turn and "calmly" walk up to Tear then start yelling at her.

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT YOU JUST DID! WE COULD NE HOMELESS AND YOU WOULD ABANDON US ON THE STREETS TO DIE?! YOUR SO MESSED UP! AND YOU MADE MY NEST FRIEND CRY! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU!" I turn and walk over to Arietta, then pick her up, and hold her in my arms until she stopped crying. When she stopped, she looked up at me, with light like I have never seen, in her eyes.

"You stood up for me.. I have wanted to do the same for you, but was afraid of what would happen to me.. Thank you Sync!" Then 3 words came out of her mouth, that I thought I would never hear in my life.

"I love you." I felt my heart fill with warmth, spreading, till it reached my face. Then I just couldn't hold it in any longer. I just started to cry and Arietta put her arms around my neck and put her forehead against mine. "I love you too, Arietta." When I looked at her face, she was crying also. Her small face was so beautiful, even when she was crying. I put my hand on her chin, and then…

Hello guys! I wanted to leave of off here, but not for a bad reason. I wanted to leave it off here for a climax, and then will write what happens in another story if my writers block goes away. But I would appreciate reviews and ways on how to improve! Thanks for your help!
