The sounds of heavy arguing drifted down the stairwell, one voice strictly serious and uptight, the other, joking and relaxed.
"For the last time, Emmett, you don't know that!" Jasper's voice rose in pitch slightly in distress.
"Yes, I do. I am all knowing." Emmett's voice contained barely controlled laughter.
"Okay, seriously, quit it." Jasper walked off the stairs, sitting down on the couch in the living room. Alice bounced over to him, grinning before sitting in his lap. He smiled at her before turning to glare at Emmett.
Emmett was also off the stairs and had walked over to where Rosalie was sitting on the recliner. He then fell into her lap, laughing as she screamed, annoyed.
"Emmett, oh my gawd, get off!" She screeched, pushing at him gently.
Emmett shook his head, a victorious smile lighting up his face. "You know you like it."
Rose sighed and kissed him on the cheek before shoving him hard, off her lap and onto the floor.
"Ow!" he yelled as he hit the floor, pouting. "What was that for?"
Rose shrugged. "Just cuz."
Jasper and Alice were in hysterics on the couch, laughing so loud Edward stormed in from his room.
"Will you idiots shut up? I'm trying to write a song for Bella!"
Emmett scoffed. "Lovesick fool. With food at the worst, too."
Edward snarled and started to lunge at Emmett, his large amount of self-control the only thing holding him back. He snarled one more time then lft, angry sounds coming from the piano.
Emmett laughed again before grabbing Rose's ankles, scaring her, and dragging her down to sit next to him. "Much better." He grinned.
Rosalie glared at him before settling into his arm. "Oaf." She muttered. Emmett grinned before turning to Jasper.
"Now Emmett," Jasper said, continuing the argument. "You know nothing about the Civil War."
Emmett grinned. "I know all."
Jasper scoffed. "Yeah right. I was the only one there in this family."
Emmett raised an eyebrow. "You sure about that?"
Jasper stared at him in horror. "Are you saying I wasn't there? That I didn't almost die to save my country? That I didn't fight every day for my people and our hon-"
Emmett cut him off. "No, you old gasbag. I'm trying to say that you might not have been the only one there."
Jasper blinked, the scoffed. "Yeah right."
Emmett nodded quickly, all seriousness. "I'm right! I was there!"
Jasper raised an eyebrow. "Alrighty then – where were you?"
Emmett grinned widely. "In a tree."
A/N- I actually said this to my friend one day, so I thought you people deserved to see it as a fic. I'm sorry if you didn't find it funny – my Script Frenzy is taking all my writing time. XD
