"Susan come here child." The doctor mutters leaning over the console of the Tardis studying the buttons.
"Pardon me?"
"Don't pardon me girl! I said to come here!" His volume increases, still looking down.
"I think I want to go home." Her voice says timidly full of fear; he could barely hear her.
"Susan don't be so quiet child! What was that?"
"I want you to take me back home. Please Doctor." She is crying now, at last he looks up towards her.
"Who are you?! What did you do with my granddaughter?" The Doctor rushes forward stopping short of running into her finger out stretched accusatorily.
"Clara. For the twentieth time my name is Clara!"
"Clara? I know a Clara?" He takes a step back from her.
"You used to. Just as I used to know you Doctor." Clara says turning away quickly tears still falling.
"I I'm sorry. Regeneration its…hard." He knew he couldn't explain to her something he hardly understood himself.
"Can you please take me home?"
"Aren't you having fun Su…"
"Clara! My name is Clara Oswald!" She screams turning back to him eyes on fire.
"Yes of course Clara. My impossible girl. See? Give me time it'll come back." The Doctor attempts to touch her, she pulls away.
"This is all too much."
"You see Clara you remind me in many ways of Susan. Much like you she was full of spunk, determination, wise behind her years, at the end of the day she was always by my side. In many ways she was my first love. The first I cared for without questions or doubts."
"You or rather he didn't talk about her much. Not really anything of the life before." He nods knowingly.
"At times its easier to bury the past safely away than face it. With each pleasant memory there can be two horrific ones waiting. But I assure you Clara I loved Susan deeply."
"I believe that Doctor."
"And believe this too, you were his last love. Give me a chance and we'll get there together." Clara still misses home, her family, these changes, a stranger stood in front of her. Yet she knew him. He loved her. Just as she loved him.
"Alright." With that he runs back to console rapidly hitting buttons and pulling levers until the Tardis roars to life setting them off for there first adventure together.
