"Dave, where are we going?" A blindfolded Rory asked.

"You'll see."

Suddenly they stopped. Dave let go of the Irish boy's hand. Rory panicked and swung his hand around.

Dave realized what he was doing and grabbed his hand again. "Don't worry. I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere."

He nodded, and waited. finally, Dave took off the blindfold and stepped back. Rory's breath was caught in his throat.

They were in the middle of the football field at night. The lights weren't on. On the ground was a blanket and pillows with a picnic basket and a small lantern being the only light. He looked up at the sky. He could see all the stars and the moon shone especially bright tonight. He smiled.

"You really went all out didn't you?"

Dave blushed. "You hungry? There are sandwiches in there."

Rory nodded and allowed himself to be led yet again to the blanket and pulled down in between the football player's legs, one hand around his waist and the other searching inside a picnic basket for food. Rory leaned back, and took it all in. This was what he loved about being with Dave. He turned his head suddenly and placed a quick kiss on the other boy's cheek.

Dave smiled. Oh how Rory loved that smile, especially when it made his brown eyes sparkle, and handed him a turkey sandwich. His favorite. He bit into it eagerly and they just sat there, in perfect silence.

Once they had finished their sandwiches and drinks, for Dave had also brought some soda, they laid down on the blanket. Rory was using Dave's arm as a pillow, and had placed one hand on his chest.

"Did you see that?" Rory asked. "A shooting star!" He stuck his arm in the air and then looked at Dave.

"Nope." He said, and Rory realized he was staring at him the whole time. "What's your wish?"

"I can't tell you that! Then it won't come true, and I really want this one to come true." He said, leaning forward to place a kiss on the other boy's lips.

That small kiss grew. Dave hoisted the smaller boy so he was straddling him and brought his large hands to rest on his slender hips. Rory's hands were on Dave's chest, as they kissed even more passionately. Finally, before things could get to heated, Rory broke the kiss only to rest his head on the bigger boy's chest, and just lay there, while big strong arms came and wrapped themselves around him. One at the small of his back, and one in his hair, securing him, making him feel loved.

"I love you." Dave murmured before he could stop himself.

Rory smiled. No. He beamed. "I love you."
