Marry Me
So, I'm basically obsessed with Superstore and have been binge watching it over and over for the past week. One shot. Based upon the Train song of the same name.
Disclaimer: I do not own Superstore. Nor do I own Ben Feldman. LOL.
Amy/Jonah
Marry Me
Forever can never be long enough for me
Feel like I've long enough with you
Forget the world now we won't let them see
But there's only one thing left to do
Now that the weight has lifted
Love has surely shifted my way
Marry me
Today and everyday
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say hello in this café
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Say you will
Mm-hmm
It had been nearly three years since he made the five-hour drive from Chicago on that frigid November night to St. Louis. It had been nearly three years since he stopped for a snack at the local Cloud 9 and ended up with a job there as a floor worker. Jonah Simms had no idea how long he would end up staying at Cloud 9. Perhaps it would have been a temporary job. However, it ended up becoming the job where he would meet the love of his life.
"Tonight must be perfect, Mateo. Thank you for helping me plan all of this."
Tonight was the night Jonah was proposing to his girlfriend, Amy. He met her about three years ago when he first began working at Cloud 9. However, she was married to her now ex-husband, Adam.
"What about this one?" Mateo asked Jonah as held up a picture of the two of them on their first night together.
"It's perfect" Jonah replied and with that, Mateo waltzed out the door.
He couldn't imagine his life without her. Although, their lives didn't start as spectacular as he would have hoped.
Amy wasn't the easiest person to get along with being the floor supervisor and all. She made Jonah feel rather uncomfortable on his first day of work. He was still attracted to her despite her hierarchy, and of course, her being married. As time went on, Jonah became more patient with Amy and his attraction grew. Now, here he was about to make her dreams come true.
"Jonah, I'm home" Amy yelled to her boyfriend as she slammed the door. The two had just recently moved in together and just celebrated their first anniversary together.
"Oh hi. How was your day?"
"Oh, you know, same old, same old"
"Would you like some wine?" Jonah asked.
"I would love some."
[Time lapse]
Nervously, Jonah began to ask his very important question. "So, um, Amy, there's something I've been wanting to ask you for quite some time now. I've known you three years and we've been together for a year now. My life has not been the same since you've been in it. You have such a way of showing me how much you love me. Do you remember when we first got together?" He asked as he holds up the picture of them together. Amy shook her head acknowledging the moment.
"Anyway, I never knew how much love a person could give me until I met you. You make me smile, laugh and you're my best friend. You make me happier than I ever thought possible. If you let me, I will continue to keep on loving you. So, Amelia Michelle Sosa, will you marry me?
Tears began streaming down Amy's face as she listened to those wonderful words. She could hardly find the right thing to say. "Jonah, I can't imagine what my life would be like without you in it. I am so glad I was able to meet you but more importantly, I'm glad that I fell in love with you. In answer to your question, yes, I will marry you."
Jonah slid the ring on her finger and they shared a passionate kiss. Now to hope no one caught the whole thing on video.
The end.
Reviews are love. XOXO
