16-year-old Shane Collins looked up from his piece of pepperoni pizza, which is not an easy thing to do.
"Dude!" he elbowed his best friend, who was also 16, Michael Glass. "Dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude-"
"Dude!"said Michael, "What?!"
"Dude, I think she's checking me out." Shane gestured to the 14-year-old advanced placement student, Claire Danvers.
"Little Claire-Bear Danvers?" said Eve Rosser.
"Yeah! Dude, she's hot!" said Shane.
"You made her cry in middle school." Michael pointed out.
"Oh, yeah." said Shane, "That was her?"
"Yep."
"Huh," said Shane, "Hm. Little Clairey's grown up."
"Um, hi." said Claire coming up to their table. "Uh, all the other tables are full. Do you mind if I sit here?" she mumbled.
"Sure!" said Shane, a little too enthusiastic.
"Go ahead." said Michael.
"Go ahead, Claire Bear!" said Eve.
Claire raised an eyebrow at her.
"That's my new nickname for you." said Eve.
Claire looked at her funny, but let it pass. She sat down and locked eyes with Shane.
"You."
"Hey baby." said Shane, "You're still hot."
"Ahhh! STALKER!!" Claire screamed then ran away.
Michael looked at Shane. "Nice."
