AN: I don't Own Darker than BLACK but I do love it lots.

Yin stood in front of a pot of soup. She appeared to be stirring absentmindedly but in reality was concentrating very hard. She did not want to spill anything or get burned. Yin was wearing a stained white apron. She could recall when she first received the apron. It was a gift from Hei since she had asked to help with the cooking. Her first few experiences had ending in failure, which was why the apron was dirty and stained.

Hei stood next to Yin cutting up vegetables to put into the pot she was stirring. He looked over at her and thought about how it was nice to being eating dinner with someone almost every evening. Yin heard the knife stop cutting through the vegetables and hit the cutting board. She turned her head slightly toward Hei.

"Hei…?" She asked in her monotone voice. Hei blinked and smiled a little.

"It is nothing Yin." He said and continued to keep cutting the vegetables. Yin nodded and concentrated on the stirring the soup again.

Hei finished adding in the vegetables and gave Yin a few things to bring to the table. She brought them over to the low square table. She set the things down on the table before she sat down herself. Yin could not help with plating the food. She had tried once before and it got too messy, although she remembered Hei not minding at all. It was actually kind of fun for Yin since that was the first time she got to wash dishes.

The two ate in silence. It was not an awkward silence but a very comfortable one. Yin was always the first to finish since she didn't eat very much and Hei had a enormous appetite. Yin didn't mind Hei's strange appetite. Yin liked the sounds Hei made when he ate… they sounded very happy. Once Hei stopped making those sounds Yin knew he was finished. She gathered up dishes and brought them to the sink.

"Yin I am going to take a bath…" Hei said as he stood up. He made her way to the small, cramped bathroom. Yin made sure to run the hot water on low so that there would be enough for both of them to use.

Yin finished the dishes and dried them. She put them away into their cabinets. She took off her apron and hung it on a small hook by the counter in the kitchen. Yin went to the door and locked it. She was pleased that she could help around the house and not be a burden. She felt bad that she could not show her emotions, but she had noticed her voice was changing… she could now communicate some of her feeling through her speech. It all started after that day… Yin was actually terrified of loosing Hei. She hoped that she would never have to have a feeling like that again.

Yin went into the bedroom and took the bow out of her hair letting it fall around her shoulders. She changed and waited for Hei to finish his bath. Hei came out of bathroom with a pair of old sweat pants on and a towel around his neck. He glanced over at Yin just sitting on the futon waiting for him. He went and sat down next to her. He pulled the towel over his head and started to dry his hair.

Yin looked in Hei's direction. She inched closer to his back and put her arms around him lightly. Hei lifted his head up suddenly at Yin's bold move. He looked back at her but Yin had already put her forehead on his back.

"Thank you… for changing me." Yin said with her eyes closed; her voice had a tinge of happiness in it.

Hei sat there in Yin embrace contemplating her words. He looked down at his lap and then looked over his shoulder at Yin.

"Yin… You're welcome." He placed one of his large hands over her petite ones. Yin lifted her head and looked in his direction. "You've helped me change too." He added.

"Then please let's keep changing together…" She said with her voice still sounding happy.

"No problem Yin." Hei said and tilted his head a little. He didn't mind Yin's arms around him…actually he kind of liked it.

AN: I hope you liked it.
