Halt had always secretly liked Will's curious, bubbly personality. Of course, he refused to show it, and worked Will as hard as he had Gilan. But there was something in Will that drew people. Will made friends easily. And, slowly but surely, Halt had let Will into his life. And surprisingly, Halt had never regretted it. Their bond was strong and sure. Their friendship was strong and sure. Their father-son sort of relationship was strong and sure. It was a beautiful unusual friendship that would last for as long as they lived. And Halt both knew and cherished that fact.
