I've known for all my life,
I can't have it all ways.
Nothing lasts forever.
Changes come with the passing days.

I've known sorrow with the joy.
I've known loss as well as gain.
But I never learned not to get attached.
I've never got used to the pain.

Each cloud had a silver lining.
But each lining has a cloud
I've known love and had a family;
A daughter to make anyone proud.

Of Middle-earth I have grown tired.
It's time to cross the great Sea.
But leaving brings its own heartbreaks:
For Arwen will never come with me.
