Summary: Nezumi was a loner and he was damn proud of it. Until Sion came to his life.

..

..

..

Nezumi didn't need anyone in his life.

He survived without anyone helping him and he would like to keep it that way.

He used to think that the world was a million scattered pieces solely dedicated to each human and that no one should intervene to each world.

All people were on their own and life worked that way.

Until he met him.

He was a small boy with unbelievably huge and honest eyes.

He looked at Nezumi like a child looking for his mother and that day, Nezumi was burdened with the human emotion called 'empathy'.

He looked so helpless and his small hands were outstretched to him, his eyes were watering.

He never meant to help that boy but for some strange reason, his arms slowly moved on its own and held the smaller hand in front of him.

Nezumi still couldn't believe it today but it seemed like he helped this boy that day.

He called himself Sion, and Sion turned out to be a lot more than just trouble for Nezumi.

He wrecked his cold shell out of his soul and replaced it with something as feeble as 'compassion'. The boy pulled out Nezumi from darkness and lavished him with light that was almost blinding at first.

He would always stretch out his hand for help and call Nezumi. And every time that happened, Nezumi would strangely found himself glued to the boy's side, hushing him to sleep.

He was becoming a bundle of soft cotton and it was all this boy's fault.

He was a nuisance, yes, but he was also his life saver.

"Nezumi, Inukashi told me that he heard you calling my name when he accidentally saw you asleep at the middle of the garbage dump yesterday."

Nezumi glared at the boy.

"Yeah. I was having a really bad nightmare."

"But he said you're smiling, which was in fact a very unusual thing. I see you all the time, but I never really see you smile."

"Tell the mutt I was scowling. Scowling. It's time you idiots learn the difference."

Until today, Nezumi didn't still need anybody.

He was still the cold bastard he was before and nothing would change it.

However, Nezumi didn't mind keeping someone who needed him.

And if it was Sion, well, there was always an exception, right?

If Sion needed him, then so be it.

And someday, who knows, maybe I'll will find it in myself to tell him I need him too.
