She holds him so tightly sometimes that he can't help but try to pull away. It's not because he doesn't love her, or doesn't want to be touched, but he's well aware that for someone with Katie's strength, it would only take a little push for it to go from affection to doing some serious damage.

Tonight is different.

Tonight he needs that push, that extra bit of force more than anything. Because he's been teetering on the edge for what seems like forever, and she's still going, touching and kissing him in ways he never would have dreamed of before now, but it's still not enough.

He tries calling out for her, but the name comes out strangled and unfamiliar. But he needs her now, he can't just...

Somewhere in the haze of his mind, he remembers that it's rude. But he doesn't have much of a choice.

Katie, please-- I can't take much more of this--

His eyes flutter open for an instant to meet hers, and in that instant he sees nothing but understanding.

He feels a push, and then he's falling.

When he comes to, she's perched on the side of the bed, a towel wrapped securely around her body. Without thinking, he smiles... but that fades as the final moments come back. What he had done had been in 'the heat of the moment' or whatever Humans liked to call it, but now that the moment was over, he had no idea how she would react.

She leans over, smiling. "Morning, Trip. I saved you some hot water."

"Thanks-- but I don't think I'm going be moving for awhile." He falls down on the pillow and closes his eyes, reveling in the relief of knowing that he didn't ruin it after all, that things are going to be okay... and when he opens them again, she's now hovering over him, her smile much different from the one he woke up to.

"Good." It's a quick kiss, but it's still more than enough to set his nerves on fire.

He's only vaguely aware of a bed spring digging into his back as she pushes him against the mattress.
