This is a one shot I made with my OC Hime. It's just a short little thing that I wrote while thinking about this character. If you would like to know a little bit about Hime wellllll... she's a priestess of her own little island that is not owned by any of the nations because it's hidden to most people. Priestess of this island are connected to the spirits very deeply, they have one true love whom which they have only one child that is always a girl, when this girl turns 18 her mother passes on her power, which includes eternal life until their daughter is 18 and the cycle continues, the passing of power ends the mother's life because she no longer is gifted with eternal life so all her years catch up with her making her die of old age.
That's all I can really say about it, it's pretty much the only info you'd need for this little one shot if you really wanted info. Any way... I hope you enjoy this little one shot! Reviews are loved of course so send the love and I'll send some back! ^_^
"Why do you wish for me to judge you, Zuko of the Fire Nation?" Hime said in a strong and wise tone as she rose, her body towering over his crouched from. Zuko swallowed hard and took a brave glance up at the Pristess. His eyes wided in slight shock, for this was the first time Zuko had seen her true age on her face. She looked powerful, all knowing, and ancient; he could see the years within the depths of her seemingly endless eyes.
"Well?" Hime questioned, regaining Zuko's attention to the matter at hand.
Why did he want to be judged by her? Zuko did not know for sure but he knew that if anyone in this world was going to judge him for everything it was the woman in front of him. Zuko bowed his head once more and spoke softly, like a child who was ready to be scolded.
"Am I... worthy... of a second chance...?"
Hime's eyes narrowed just slightly and her tone became just icy enough for Zuko to regret speaking. "Worthy? If you do not know then how am I to know?"
This confused Zuko, how would he know if he was worthy or not? He made so many mistakes and hurt so many people... but he knew he regreted it... he knew he wanted to do good... but was that enough? Could the simple want to do good be enough to erase so many years of causing pain to others?
"I-I don't.. k-know... how to... decide..." Zuko stutterd and fumbled with the words, not sure if he was saying it right.
"Decide?" Hime reached down and took the young firebender's chin between her fingers and pulled his face up to look at her. "If this is a decision, then shouldn't it be you who makes it? You know everything you have done and everything you wish to do, no one will ever know more about you and who you are than you Zuko. So why should someone else decide your worth for you?"
Zuko stared into the dark eyes of pure wisdom and knowing. What was it about her that made her seem like she held all the knowledge in the world inside of her?
"I... decide..?" Zuko asked, almost seeming scared about the answer.
Hime's gaze softened and the corners of her mouth turned up slightly. "Yes. You decide your worth, because it is yours and no one can take it from you, no one can make it any more or less than you say it is." She layed her hand gently on his cheek and crouched down to her knees in front of Zuko.
Zuko closed his eyes and rested his forehead against Hime's shoulder, letting out a warm breath against her neck. Hime in return wrapped her arms around his shoulders and held him to her.
Hope you enjoyed that little thing, would love a review if you did or even if you didn't, I except hate with a smile on my face. ^_^
By the way... ZUKO IS AWESOME! We love you Zuko! :D
