Did you really love me?

The full moon shone brightly overhead as Kin lay against a tree with Zaku's head resting peacefully on her lap. Dosu had already been taken by Gaara and the two had barely escaped Orochimaru. Unfortunately Zaku had been hit with a fatal blow and was bleeding profusely. He lay, dying, on Kin's lap, enjoying his last moments with the young sound shinobi.
"Uhh," Zaku moaned as Kin gently stroked his hair. His breathing had become less even as blood flooded the open wound. His arms were very limp and his vision had become blurry. Kin leaned her head forward to look at his face for one last time as tears began to flow from her eyes. They had been through a lot together, especially during the Chuunin exam. Her thoughts trailed back to when they confronted the Uchiha, when that Ino girl had taken over her body and her teammates wwere willing to kill her to get that girl.
And then, they trailed back to when they first met, how he was so nice to her, their first kiss, and how he said he would always love her. Her face saddened at the thought of loosing Zaku. It terrified her so much. She turned her head away, the feeling of confusion clouded her mind.
" Zaku," she whispered to herself, not meant for him to hear. Again she whispered it. " Can you hear me?"
" Yes," came a soft, short reply.
" There's something I always wanted to ask," sha began. " After all we've been through I've been wondering…" A tear dropped from her eyes.
Even though Zaku's arms were very weak, he managed to reach up to wipe the tear off of her cheek.
" Did you really love me?"
His face was calm. " I know I didn't do a very good job, but," he paused, " I tried to show you … in every way I could… that you were the one."
At that Kin started to sob softly. Why? Why did it have to be them? Why did Zaku have to die?
" I … I," she stuttered, " prayed to kami (sob) every night that I would never see the day when I would have to say goodbye to you," she turned to a whisper,
" Forever."
With that, she bent down gently and they shared their last passionate kiss.
"This isn't goodbye," he said trying to comfort her, " Even when I face death, I'll always be in your heart, until the end of time." He took her hand and placed it over his heart. She watched as he closed his eyes, silently telling her that his time had come. She felt the life slip out of him, trying to not let her tears fall. As she leaned her head against the treetrunk, she whispered,
" I love you."

Well that was my first oneshot. As you can see, It's a little ( and by a little, I mean really ) cheesy.
