Cho didnt' want to think. She didnt' want to breathe. She didn't want to live. All she wanted to do was think of him, her Cedric. He was brave, kind, gentle and hers. Now, he was gone. Head pounding, heart breaking, she layed her head down on her pillows and fell into a soft bliss of sleep where she was talking to Cedric.
She woke as suddenly as she had fallen asleep. The tears were falling down her cheeks like a waterfall. She couldn't believe what had just happened. She had wanted their last moments together before he died back. She had never gotten to say goodbye or how much she love him. The dream she had, however, seemed to erase that. She wrote what she had seen and what she had heard. Thinking that since he felt so real to her in her dream, maybe he would be able to hear her now. . . .wherever he was. She read what she wrote aloud:
I had a dream about you last night,
You said goodbye.
You took my hand and told me that it would be alright.
It was fun while it lasted,
But now it could never happen.
You held me close as I cried.
I understand why now had to be the time,
But so many of my dreams had foiled me before
I didn't want to dream this dream anymore.
When I woke up, I saw your face.
It was a beautiful vision that I never want to replace.
So I grabbed this piece of paper
And wrote what I had seen.
It was a message from you
That you had somehow sent in my dream:
"You'll be alright, I know you will.
You're stronger than you think,
You're more courageous than you feel."
With those last words, I vow never to forget,
My first love, a love I don't regret.
