Hey guys! Got inspired to write another story! It's when my OC, Rocket, and Groot meet. I thought it'd be fun! If you read my other story "What's A Stripper?" you'll be able to find a small description of my OC. Like seriously, I don't even wanna get into explaining everything about my OC right now...too tired...so go read my other fanfic. This also takes place before the movie. Pretty sure it doesn't have spoilers, if it does, I apologize. Enjoy! And be nice please!

Today was a particularly beautiful and sunny day in Xandar. The atmosphere was almost cheery and very peaceful as many citizens went about their day. I found myself outside of a shop on this nice day, waiting for Peter to finish selling off an item we'd acquired from a deserted planet nearby Xandar. I sighed as I pulled out Peter's Walkman and put it on to listen to some music, hoping that Peter would be done soon. As I listened to Fooled Around & Fell In Love, I observed the citizens that passed by, and smiled as I looked down below and saw children running and playing around what appeared to be a water fountain. I found myself staring at the fountain in awe, smiling at how pretty it was, especially when the sunlight bounced off of the waters in a way that made it radiate in such beauty.

It's so pretty...Peter told me about fountains on his home world. He used to throw coins in to make a wish.

I glanced back at the shop that Peter was still inside before I bit my bottom lip and slowly began making my way down to the fountain. As soon as I made it to the fountain, I sat along the edge and ran my hand through the water and perked up at seeing coins shining underneath the water. I failed to hold back a grin and went to reach into my pocket for a coin and got ready to toss it in. After turning off Peter's Walkman, I placed the headphones around my shoulders and close my eyes to make a wish as I tossed the coin into the fountain.

I want...I want to go on an adventure and be a hero.

"What the hell are you throwing a coin into the fountain for?" A voice spoke beside me.

I perked up and opened my eyes to find a small creature looking at me in confusion and dare I say annoyance, though I don't know what I did to offend it.

No wait! Peter told me about these animals...he's a...raccoonie? Racco? No...a raccoon! That's it!

"Well...my brother said that if you toss a coin into a fountain, you can make a wish." I politely replied.

"Well your brother's a fucking moron. Hate to break it to you, sweetheart. I mean, what kind of dumb ass throws money into a fountain?" He scoffed.

At this comment, I found myself glaring at the raccoon from his tone and quickly went to defend Peter.

"My brother's not stupid. It's just a thing he used to do on his home planet." I told him.

"Well it's stupid...I mean, people around the entire galaxy try to earn a living, and here you are just wastin' money and throwing it into fountains. Sounds completely reasonable." The raccoon replied sarcastically.

I sighed and folded my arms, not seeing the point in trying to start a fight considering how tired I was from the travel to Xandar. Instead of being mean myself, I gave the raccoon a kind smile and attempted to be nice to him.

"What's wrong? Did you have a bad day or something?" I kindly asked.

The raccoon stared at me warily at my tone, but found himself extremely confused when he saw the sincerity of my words. The raccoon snapped out of his daze as he shook his head and glared at me.

"What? It's none of your damn business, toots!" The raccoon shouted.

I moved closer towards the raccoon and gently set my hand on top of his, which caused him to tense up. At such a gesture, the raccoon glanced up at me in surprise, before he grew flustered.

"Want to talk about it?" I mumbled softly.

"W- -what am I? A teenage girl? Why the fuck would I want to talk to some stranger about shit she clearly wouldn't understand?!" The raccoon huffed.

Is he calling me stupid? How wouldn't I understand?

Again, I remained patient, feeling determined to set things right with this creature and hopefully make a new friend. I had no idea what it was, but I felt an invisible pull to him and wanted to get to know him more. I outstretched my arm and extended my hand towards the creature, who in return stared at my palm in confusion as well as curiosity.

"My name is Stellar." I introduced myself.

"What?" The raccoon muttered.

"Now you know my name...I'm no longer a stranger to you right?" I smiled warmly.

The raccoon found himself putting his much smaller hand and intertwining it with mine before gently shaking my hand. He looked confused for certain, but much more relaxed than he was before.

"Rocket..." He said.

"Hm?" I raised an eyebrow.

He rolled his eyes, finding what he said to be extremely obvious.

"People call me Rocket." He clarified.

At this I nodded in understanding and bit my bottom lip as I realized I'd just made a friend and found myself very elated at the thought. It wasn't long before a tall plant-like creature had made his way over, and sat down beside Rocket and I at the fountain.

"I am Groot?" He looked towards Rocket.

"Oh, well this is Stellar. She was trying to throw some cash into the fountain. Dumb right?" Rocket snickered.

The tall creature gave me a warm smile before he also outstretched his hand towards me. For a minute, I thought he wanted to shake my hand and started to reach over to grab his hand, but paused when I saw a flower growing from his palm. I stared in awe as he created life right before my very eyes and smiled in fascination. He plucked the flower from his hand, and held out the flower for me. I let out a giggle as I gladly accepted his gift and blushed from such kindness.

"Thank you. What's your name?" I asked.

"I am Groot." He replied with a polite nod.

"That's about all you'll get from him, trust me." Rocket informed me.

Okay?

"So what brings you guys here to Xandar anyway?" I glanced at them in curiosity.

"Like I said, none of your- -" Rocket quickly grew defensive.

Groot gently elbowed Rocket's side, before giving him a small and fixed glare.

"I am Groot." Groot scolded him.

Rocket looked like he wanted to say something but decided against it before turning back over to me.

"...fine." He sighed in irritation. "We're here on business."

I leaned forward, my forearms resting on my legs as I got closer to Rocket.

"What kind?" I muttered.

"I am Groot." Groot smiled.

Uhhhhh...okay? I guess Rocket wasn't lying.

"And that means..." I looked to Rocket for an answer.

"We're here to...pick someone up so to speak." Rocket elaborated.

Rocket chuckled and reached down into a bag he'd brought with him before pulling out a strange device.

"Ooh! What does that device do?" I asked excitedly.

"Like it huh? Designed it myself." He smiled smugly.

Rocket handed it over to me, allowing me to inspect it. I carefully held the small device and tentatively ran my hands over the surface.

"How does it work?" I tapped it gently.

"Here, let me help." He mumbled.

Rocket took the device back before pressing a small button that extended it before allowing me to hold it once more. It revealed a large screen in the middle which I hadn't realized was there before. When it turned on, it began scanning everyone in the device's line of sight, revealing everything about them.

"It mainly scans people and reveals if they're wanted by the government." Rocket merely explained.

"So...you're like an officer?" I raised an eyebrow.

"...something like that. Only when I turn in the loser I'm after, I get paid. Very very handsomely." He smirked.

"I am Groot." Groot pouted.

"Sorry, we get 'em and get paid." Rocket corrected himself.

Based from Rocket and Groot's job description, or whatever it was that they did, I found it rather intriguing and found myself amazed.

"That's really awesome." I grinned excitedly.

"Finally! Someone who appreciates our talents!" Rocket smirked with a snap of his fingers. "Forget what I said, I think I like you already, sweetheart."

"Wait...what did you say about me?" I frowned.

"Forget it! It's all in the past, doll face!" Rocket dismissed with a wave of his hand. "So Stellar, how about we go for a drink? I'll even pay for it."

Rocket gave me a wink, causing me to blush and grow flustered within seconds.

"Well, I am thirsty..." I muttered.

"Good!" Rocket smiled deviously.

I was caught off guard when Rocket grabbed my hand and began leading me away to who knows where.

"Come on, Groot! We got ourselves a new drinking buddy!" Rocket laughed.

Groot got up from his spot at the fountain and began following us closely behind. It was a few minutes later that we'd arrived to a much more louder part of Xandar, with species of all kinds that were slurring with their speech, and fighting one another. I found myself squeezing Rocket's hand as I tensed up at how loud everyone was. We made our way inside what appeared to be a small pub and went to go find a table together. A large creature laughed stupidly as we tried to pass by, but when he almost stomped his large foot on Rocket, the raccoon stumbled back and got out what appeared to be a small gun after releasing my hand. The creature almost went into hysterical laughter before Rocket cocked the gun and evidently made it even larger than it was previously when he extended it. The creature yelped and stumbled backwards as Rocket gave him a dangerous glare.

"HEY! I'm walking here!" Rocket hollered angrily.

The creature nodded vigorously and apologized profusely before practically running out of the establishment. We'd noticed how quiet it suddenly got as all eyes were currently on us, or rather at Rocket. Rocket smirked as he placed his gun against his hip and held it with one arm. Eventually, everyone went back into full swing and continued about their day. Finally after finding a table, Rocket put his gun away and waved his hand over at the bartender to get us some drinks. I'd made the assumption that this was just a restaurant, but after the bartender placed a tray of small cups on the table, my face scrunched up in confusion.

How was this supposed to clench my thirst? The cup is so tiny...

I picked up one of the small cups and sniffed it to find a strong smell that hit my nose instantly.

"What's in it?" I cautiously asked.

Rocket down his drink quickly, practically slamming the cup onto the table as he gave me yet another smug look.

"Don't question it and just drink up, sweetheart." Rocket chuckled.

I looked at the drink in curiosity and slowly went to take a sip, only to find myself utterly repulsed by the taste.

EW! It's so nasty! What the heck is this?!

I grimaced from the taste of the drink and put it down while shaking my head frantically from the strong taste and smell.

"Aw come on! Live a little, toots!" Rocket laughed. "Is this your first time drinking or somethin'?"

I coughed as Groot pat my back gently and gave me an amused look.

"I am Groot." He smiled.

"Well it is my first time drinking so...I should have prepared myself. I didn't know we would be consuming alcohol." I blushed again.

"Holy shit! You can't be serious!" Rocket snickered. "It's really your first time drinkin'? This is great!"

I felt my face grow warmer than it normally did, whether from the alcohol or from Rocket's teasing, either way I reached for the small drink again and consumed it quickly. The burn of the liquid down my throat was almost soothing, and already I could feel myself crave for more of this drink.

"Once you get over the taste...it's not so bad." I commented.

"Now we're talking!" Rocket cheered.

Rocket waved over at the bartender again and he came back over with another tray of drinks prepared for us.

"Drink up, Stellar! Let's see how much you can hold down!" Rocket smirked.

"Okay!" I chirped happily.

At first, I was merely enjoying the drinks, until Rocket gave me a challenging look and the both of us were racing to drink all of them as if it was some sort of game. Eventually, after ten minutes or so, I slammed down the last cup on the table as I raised my arms and felt victorious.

Why wouldn't Peter let me partake in these drinking quests of his? They're so much fun!

"I win!" I cheered.

Rocket almost looked impressed with me as he leaned back in his chair.

"I think I really like you, sweetheart. You and I are gonna get along just fine." Rocket nodded in approval.

It wasn't long before I began to feel dizzy and leaned on Groot's arm. Groot merely looked down at me and smiled before he wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

"I feel weird...is that normal after drinking these?" I giggled.

"Aaah...yer fine...just drunk is all." Rocket chuckled.

I looked over at a clock and my eyes widened when I realized how long it had been.

Peter is definitely done in that shop by now...I hope he doesn't get mad at me.

"Oh no! I have to go!" I panicked.

Rocket seemed disappointed to hear this as his ears drooped slightly.

"Go where? The party's just gettin' started, toots!" Rocket frowned.

"My brother is probably worried sick...I should go find 'im..." I slurred.

I took Groot's arm off of my shoulder before I tried standing up, and nearly felt my stomach drop when I nearly fell on my face. Groot had caught me with his arms before I fell and it wasn't long until Rocket got up from his seat and tried to steady me until I was standing straight again without assistance.

"It's okay, it'll pass." Rocket assured me. "So...will I see you again soon?"

"I am Groot." Groot glared at Rocket.

"Correction: Will we get to see you soon?" Rocket rolled his eyes at Groot.

"Yeah. I usually come here a lot with my brother. I hope I bump into you guys again." I smiled warmly at Rocket and Groot.

I crouched down and pulled Rocket in for a hug. He was hesitant, but slowly returned the hug as he was unsure of how to react as such a friendly gesture. I felt the both of us being lifted and noticed that Groot was hugging us as well. I giggled again as Groot finally put us back down to the floor while Rocket gave him a playful glare.

"I hope to see you both again. I had a lot of fun today." I waved goodbye to them.

It wasn't long until I was wondering the streets of Xandar, noticing that it was already dark outside which indicated how late at night it was. I felt like I was practically floating and kept remembering how much fun it was with Rocket and Groot, already wishing that they were here with me. I was brought out of my drunken daydream when I could hear Peter shouting in the distance as soon as he spotted me and ran over.

"STELLAR!" Peter yelled. "Oh thank heavens you're not abducted by any Pursilas! Those guys are vicious..."

Peter embraced me before giving me a scolding look as sweat rolled down his one cheek.

"Where the hell have you been?! I've been looking all over this damn place for you!" Peter pulled back slightly.

"I met a talking raccoon and a huge plant creature!" I smiled dazedly.

Peter sniffed the air and shuddered in disgust as he realized it was me that smelled so strongly.

"Oh god...you're drunk aren't you?" Peter looked at me in worry. "Where the hell were you?"

"I dunno...but it was fun..." I slurred.

"Let's just go...thanks for giving me a heart attack by the way..." Peter rolled his eyes.

Peter shrugged off his jacket and placed it around my shoulders when he saw that I was shivering. Peter sighed as he then wrapped an arm around my shoulders and pulled me over to him.

"If you go missing like that again, I swear I'll put a tracking device in you. You scared me Stellar." Peter muttered.

"M' sorry." I mumbled softly.

Peter gave me a small smile when he knew how upset I was to put me at ease.

"So...a talking plant and a raccoon huh?" Peter chuckled.

I'm sorry if it was short, but I worked hard on this. I kinda had fun writing this too! I hope you liked it! Be nice please! My sensitive little soul can't handle mean reviews.
