Proluge

"Oh crap, I'm late for lunch." Kate Grey said while twirling the lock on her locker. "Happy Anniversary sweetheart." Daniel Smith coming up behind her with a bouquet of roses. "Our anniversary? We haven't even dated." she said as she put her books in her locker, and slammed it shut. "No we haven't, and I regret everyday we haven't gone on a date." he said in mock regret.

"Then what is our anniversary for?"

"The day we fell in love."

"Love? I tripped you in the lunchroom."

"And you had my heart ever since."

"Sure, whatever. Listen, I have to go, but thanks for the flowers." she said taking them from his hands and, and turned towards the door.

"Wait." he said grabbing onto her bare arm. "What?" she said starting to get annoyed "I don't have time for this!" she shouted turning her head in his direction, and the sight she saw made her gasp in shock.

He was aging rapidly. His skin was wrinkling, and his hair turned white. Finally she jerked her arm away, and he collasped to the floor unconcious. Startled she looked at her hand containing the roses, and was shocked at the sight. The flowers in her hand were black and wilted, and she dropped them out of fright.

"Hey," someone shouted,"she's a freak, a mutant!"

"We don't want your kind around here!" another voice shouted.

"Yeah. Get lost!"

"Freak!"

"Monster!"

"Murderer!"

Random voices shouting insulting words, made her panic. She looked down at Daniel's body, and the rose, and did the only thing she could think of.

She ran.
