Summary: Every guy wanted her since the triple win. Even Troy. Will he ever tell her how he feels?

Finally

Seventeen year old Troy Bolton walked through the doors of East High, making his way to his locker. After collecting his books, he walked into homeroom and looked around.

'Where is she?' he though desperately. 'She would've called me if she was sick and couldn't come to school.'

Troy scanned the room once again, looking for the curly-haired brunette.

Just then, a voice behind him said, "You know some people want to get into homeroom, so you might want to move."

He spun around sharply and came face to face with his best friend, Gabriella Montez.

"Where were you?" he demanded sharply.

"Uh, at my locker - getting my books. You know, that's what most people do when they arrive at school."

"Haha. Funny, Montez. It's just you're always here before me, so I was just surprised to see that you weren't here."

"Is the Wildcat Superstar … afraid?" Gabriella teased.

"No!" Troy lied.

Truth was, he had been scared. Ever since the Triple Win, every guy in the school wanted her – even him, though he would never admit it. Until today. Today was going to be the day it changed. Today, he was going to ask her.

"Okay, if you say so. But I was serious about what I said before; you should probably move out of the door way."

"Oh, right," he smiled sheepishly as Gabriella rolled her eyes.

She walked towards her seat at the back of the class, with Troy following closely behind her.

"Gabi, I need to tell you something…"

"Okay. Go ahead," she shifted her gaze from her book to look up at him.

"Here it goes: I really enjoy our friendship and I wouldn't want to ruin it. But, sometimes things come up, and that's what I need to talk to you about," Troy paused then continued. "So, I know this is going to sound really stupid and you're probably going to hate me, but I can't hold it in any longer: I love you, Gabriella Montez."

Gabriella stared at him, wide-eyed, trying to digest what he had just told her.

"But, I know you don't feel the same way and you hate me for saying this because it probably ruined our friendship and I -"

Gabriella had finally come to her senses and through her arms around his neck, kissing him passionately. Troy was momentarily startled, but almost immediately brought his arms up wrap themselves around her waist. What they didn't notice was that when Troy was confessing his deepest feelings, the classroom was slowly starting to fill up with students, who were now watching the scene in silence.

Gabriella pulled away from the kiss, only to be pulled back into it immediately by Troy. He brushed his tongue against her lips, begging to deepen the kiss. She opened her mouth willingly. They began exploring places they'd never seen before, places they'd only dreamed of; and they wanted more every second.

"Bolton and Montez! Detention! You know the school disapproves of Public Displays of Affection, also known as PDA. Today, after school, in the theater – don't be late!"

Troy and Gabriella sprung apart and glanced at where the voice came from. Darbus.

"See you after class babe," Troy winked and sat down in his assigned seat.

'Babe? I'm Troy's babe now? Yay! Detention with Darbus … Small price to pay Troy Bolton's babe. Finally.'
