Hi! Here's a quick one-shot that I wrote for my English homework. Hope you enjoy!
The headlines read "new Kellogg's recipe". Their deaths happened behind four brick walls. People believed in no such thing. But really they didn't know anything. Workers missing, children missing, everyone missing. The people were being blown off the Earth like stars disappearing in the night sky.
I feel like I am the only one left on the Earth. I couldn't understand it. The corpses of people lying in the misty street body snatchers dragging the bodies into a factory like building. The building had a white sign with red writing. I couldn't tell what it said as it was far too misty. "Ouch!" I said as I fell over a wonky cobble. My face lying on the wet cobbled road.
Cold, pale hands dragging me like the dead bodies beside me. I froze like a block of ice. Shivers down my spine told me what was happening. Through the factory doors I went.
A man grabbed my legs and slung me onto the pile of body remains. It looked as if the bodies had been there for a long time. One by one the workers picked up a body from the pile and placed it on a conveyor belt that lead to what looked like several crushing machines. After the body had been through the machines, the crushed body dropped into a giant mixer with a pipe leading to another mixer.
Then I saw a company name tag on one of the workers clothes. The tag read "Kellogg's robot worker." I was shocked. Just then, a robot worker grabbed me and put me on the conveyor belt "HELP!" I screamed. But it was no use. I was sure my life had come to an end.
I rolled of the conveyor belt, barley missing the crushing machine. I landed in a pool of blood and squished organs. I quickly scrambled towards the door and accidentally hit the shut down button. Everyone looked at me, then the nearest workers grabbed my arms and took me into another room, where I saw the cornflake mix being mixed with the body ashes.
I heard footsteps behind me and felt the presence of someone nearby. The sudden sharp pain cut through me, I fell to the ground and felt several more sharp pains, is this really the end of my life, left for dead in a cornflake factory, nobody would ever know the truth if I die.
The next thing I remember was waking up in a cold dark room, the smell of putrid decomposing bodies made me vomit, the pain was almost unbearable as I lied helplessly on the wet floor of the dark room, I do not know how long I had been there. Through my tears I spotted a glimpse of light in the far distance, the light flickered on and off as I struggled to move closer to the light, It was no good the pain was to strong and I fell in a heap again on the wet floor. From out of no were the light filled the room. I closed my eyes as the light was blinding and lied still on the floor. "Have they come for me again?" I thought, as I heard the room fill with noise.
The sound of a familiar voice echoed in the room, my father a gentle and kind man had come in search of me, my saving grace. He knelt down and held me in his arms and I knew I was safe and this nightmare was over.
Within hours it had been realised that the factory was killing and using the bodies as it secret ingredients in there cornflakes, which was been sold around the world and thanks to my brave father who I thank for saving me and all the others and ending this cereal killer.
