A/N. This fic is almost entirely dialogue. It might take you a minute to figure out who's saying what, but once you do it should flow fine. The characters are Jake Gray, Ivan Reisz and an unnamed She-Demon.

"What are you doing here?"

"I came to help you."

"How do you plan on doing that?"

"I'm not sure yet."

"Wow, I feel so much better now."

"Sarcasm's not gonna help you."

"But you can?"

"I am your father after all."

"Only by blood."

"Yeah, well, your real one's dead so I'm all you got. Do you wanna sit here all day arguing with me, or you wanna listen?"

"Fine, go ahead. Tell me what you're gonna do to get me outta this mess."

"Alright, but I gotta warn you, it means taking a path I know you don't want to."

"It's not like I've got another choice. I'm looking at life, minimum."

"Ok. I'll be back tomorrow. Sit tight."

"It's not like I've got anywhere to go."

"You swore you'd never call upon me again."

"I know, but I need your help, now more than I ever did."

"Your son."

"Yes."

"If I free him, can you promise his alliance?"

"Yes."

"Very well. Go back tomorrow; tell your son to be ready."

"I will. Thank you."

~*~*~*~

"Alliance? What does that mean?"

"It's not important. I'll be with you every step of the way, all you have to do is make sure you're ready when she comes for you."

"What do I have to do?"

"Just keep your head down until tonight. It's gonna be fine, kid."

~*~*~*~

"A massive, unexplained fire has devoured the majority of the local prison. Sources so far say the casualty rate is off the scale and there are no leads as to how it began or why."

"This was your great plan?"

"I needed to create a distraction."

"Well, that was one hell of a distraction."

"Go to your father. Tell him I have fulfilled my end, it's time for him to fulfil his."

~*~*~*~

"What exactly was your end of this deal?"

"It's my job to make sure you're ready."

"For what?"

"For what's coming. You have to be willing to go all the way."

"What the hell does that mean?"

"You'll know when the time comes."

~*~*~*~

"I'm not doing this."

"You have to, Jake. It's the only way to cement your destiny."

"I never wanted this destiny."

"Would you prefer to still be rotting in jail for crimes you didn't commit?"

"So instead I should burn in hell for crimes I did commit?"

"You won't burn in hell, Jake. You'll rule it."

"Maybe I don't want to."

"You don't have a choice."

~*~*~*~

"Pull the trigger."

"I can't."

"You can."

"No."

"Just complete this one act and your world will change for the better."

"How do you know that?"

"Trust me, Jake. I know what's best for you."

"You should listen to her, Jake. It's all for the best."

"How can you say that? She wants me to kill you."

"I know. Which is why you can trust me when I tell you it's ok. Just pull the trigger, Jake. Please."

Bang.

I didn't want this. When I woke up on my 21st birthday, I never expected I'd be spending my 22nd in hell. Least of all that I'd be, for lack of a better term, Satan. My biological parents are dead. The people I called family and friends are all dead too. All I have left are my visions and the sinking feeling that there's no getting out of this one. I sealed my fate when I pulled that trigger, and now there's nothing I can do but wait until the coming apocalypse. Until I end the world.
