Adjustment Issues

I wrote this story about 150 words to long so I had to cut a lot out so I'm sorry if this one feels a little bit stunted. I'll probably publish the unabridged one latter.

The villagers of Amegakure are used to the rain. They wouldn't have stayed if they couldn't handle the rain. They learned how to whisper over the rain, how to live daily and not be soaked.

On the off days when it doesn't rain, the villagers just blink once and pretend that the silence doesn't bother them when it really does. They live their whole lives with background noise and then there's nothing. It scares them more than they care to admit.

They know the rain will start up soon. But until it does, they are content to stay well hidden.
