A/N: Been sick as hell for a couple of weeks, and dealing with family drama before that - haven't written in a bit and I feel like I'm rusty. I have so much writing to catch up on it feels more like I'm drowning than creating, but I'll never get it done if I don't get to it. So here's me stretching my wings (late) and trying to get back into the groove.

Dean and Sam crept silently through the hedges alongside the run-down house, each wielding a large machete. As they neared the corner of the darkened building, they could hear the unmistakable sound of children laughing and shrieking just a couple blocks away. Dean turned to level a look at Sam over his shoulder. He did not need words, both their faces clearly asked, "What parent would take their kids trick-or-treating when there's a killer loose?" Dean's jaw clenched as determination settled onto both brother's faces - no way in hell were any kids dying tonight. Not on the Winchester's watch.
