So the upcoming holiday made me think of this little oneshot (which will remain a oneshot). Hope you enjoy.
Wide brown eyes took in the sight of her young colleague on the phone, happily making plans with a certain Georgian former bartender for the weekend. The sight of the tall, lanky man smiling and even chuckling a little made her feel warm and fuzzy inside.
On the riser, a delivery person brought a giant bouquet of flowers—tiger lilies, baby's breath and bunches of lilac. "Looking for a Penelope Garcia?" the brown-uniformed man asked, and suddenly a resounding squee could be heard echoing off the walls of the bullpen as the woman in question took her basket and signed for the package.
In a nearby office, she saw a certain blonde pack up her belongings and lock the door for the night, smiling wide and looking ready to spend three days being spoiled by her lover and their baby.
Sighing, Emily looked at Morgan, who was still finishing up a mountain of paperwork he'd left until the very last minute. "So, any plans for the holiday?" she asked.
"Nope," he said. "Just me and Clooney enjoying a weekend off."
"Want company?" Emily said, looking around at her hopelessly in-love colleagues and friends around her. "I mean, us single people have to stick together. Good for morale and all."
"You, me, American Idol and Kurt Vonnegut," Morgan promised. "Sounds like a plan."
