Just a random one shot
Hesitantly calloused hands reached for the outstretched orange ones that were inviting him. Blue eyes glanced around the room and the hands remained distant from one another.
Princess Bubblegum watched with analytical eyes while she converses with the Flame Queen, their conversation spoken in hush, is studying their situation, his partner's stability, his own stupidity as she eloquently puts it. The Queen noting the Princesses's lack of attention, turns and give a reassuring smile to the bear headed boy.
Lumpy Space Princess already dancing, brings attention to the couple, and the other princesses turn. Wild Berry Princess commenting on the way they look together. They enjoy watching the last human and his antics. Giggles erupt, and their hands get closer.
The ballroom seems to sparkle more as the blond becomes more aware of the heat. He notices more eyes on them, Jake and Lady giving him a thumbs up as they drink punch with their children at the banquet table. Jake Jr. says something and the others reply their excitement in Korean.
Finally their hands touch and blues meets coal black. The reassuring closing of warmth around his hands has red staining his cheek. The world catches up, but fades out at the same time. The crinkling black eyes indicate that the other is smiling gently towards him. He returns a brighter one.
"Prince Finn," he swears the voice was booming in his ears, yet it soothe his fears. "shall we dance?"
Another smile,"Sure thing, FP."
