She's made decisions she'd rather not think about. She's lost people so, so, so, so very close to her. She doesn't want to lose anyone else.

She doesn't want to lose him.

The man who kept her smiling, the man who she was- no, is- willing to give up her life for, and has many times. The man who- the man- the – just say it, just admit to yourself- THE MAN WHO SHE BETRAYED. No, no. Not just a man, her forever best friend.

And there it is.

He knows there are times when he doesn't friends, but he's never been on the other side of it. Not in a long time. He doesn't like it, but his mind and his heart make him keep going. He can't lose anyone else.

He can't lose her.

The girl who followed him around London until he turned around. The girl who'd died for him many, many times. The girl who also betrayed him. (He tries to be blunt about these things with himself. It's harder and it hurts more to conceal what really happened.) No. Not just a girl, his impossible best friend.

And then she had the nerve to ask 'why', with that look, that awful, sinking look on her face that tore him inside out.

And there it is.

The face of the truth is sometimes the most painful part.

Hey guys! I know I haven't written or posted anything recently, but I figured I might as well. I came up with this a while ago when I was doing math homework. I hope y'all like it, and obviously, I don't own Doctor Who. There's my little disclaimer.

Please drop a review, maybe even a favorite…? Oh, and constructed criticism, but no flames (not fire-proof, contrary to what you may believe.) please. Hopefully awaiting the arrival of the new series, ~GriffinGirl8655
