Once upon a time, the King and Queen had a beautiful baby girl. They named her Angel, for, even as a baby, she had beautiful blonde hair that flowed around her head like a halo. A few weeks after Princess Angel's birth, the King and Queen had a grand party, in celebration of their new daughter. All of their friends came, including Princess Angel's three fairy godmothers, bringing many large, extravagant gifts for the young princess.

Suddenly, the Evil Witch arrived at the party. Angry at the King, who had banished her from the kingdom years ago, she cursed his daughter, turning the beautiful baby Angel into a Dove so that she could never marry and become the heir to the throne.

Desperate with worry and sadness, the King asked the fairy godmothers if they could do anything, make Princess Angel human once again.

"I can turn her back, but she may not be fully human. The witches' power is too great." said Rani, the oldest fairy. As we all know, fairies do not grow old, but Rani had been around much longer than the other two fairies, Ella and Faye.

"Please, do all that you can.", said the king, holding the Dove, his beloved daughter, in his hands.

As Rani whispered a spell and waved her wand, Princess Angel turned back into a human, but as Rani predicted, she was not fully human; she still had white wings on her back. "I'm sorry," Rani said, "but I could not remove all of the bird from the witches curse. She will always have her wings, but, if she can find true love, we may be able to end the witches curses for good."

As the years passed, the King and Queen lovingly raised their daughter, never caring that she had wings, because they believed they made her look even more angelic. But, they knew that if anyone else found out, their daughter would be endlessly teased and criticized. So at all of their balls and parties, she was always dressed in beautiful gowns, with her wings folded against her back, hidden under her dress.

Years passed, and soon it came to be the Princess' 18th birthday, who was now at the age to be married. Throughout the party, Princess Angel danced with many young Princes, a few who expressed interest in marriage.

Now, throughout the years, the Evil Witch had also had a daughter, Magdolyn. As a young witch, she learned from her mother all about Angel and her wings. A year before Angel turned 18, Magdolyn's mother died, passing on her curses to her daughter.

While the Princess danced with Prince Nicolas, Magdolyn, knowing no Prince could possibly love a Princess with wings, stepped on the back of Princess Angel's dress, ripping the back of the dress and causing her wings to unfold.

As the crowd saw her wings, some began to laugh and point, some called her freak, and some even ran away in terror, including most of the Princes who'd wanted to marry her. Feeling ashamed, Princess Angel ran away crying, running into the woods near the palace. As she ran, she kept telling herself that she was a freak, that no man would love her because she would always have wings.

Prince Nicolas, who did not think any different of Princess Angel, followed her into the forest, finding her crying against a tree stump.

"Princess Angel," he said, gently touching her shoulder. "I don't care if you have wings. I don't care if others call you a freak. I've never seen a more beautiful angel in my life. From the first time I saw you tonight, I knew that I loved you, and your beautiful wings do not change how I feel. Come back to the palace with me?"

Smiling as he wiped away her tears, she agreed to go back with him,

When they returned to the palace, Nicolas walked up to the King and Queen. "Your Majesties," he began, bowing to the King and Queen, "I am in love with Princess Angel. Her wings make her even more beautiful, and I'm here now to ask for your permission to marry her."

Relieved that their daughter returned, the King and Queens happiness could not be measured as they granted the Prince permission to marry Princess Angel, glad that their daughter had been able to find love despite the witches curse.

But Magdolyn, angry that her plan did not work, screamed at the young couple. "You are making a mistake, Prince Nicolas," she said, "This thing next to you doesn't deserve anyone's love. Not her parent's, not her stupid godmothers', and certainly not yours! With those hidedos wings, she shouldn't even be considered a Princess. The only name she deserves is freak! You should love me, and leave this freak alone forever!"

Princess Angel, not letting the witches' words hurt her, knowing that Nicolas' love wasn't going to change. walked up to Magdolyn. "You will never know what true love feels like. I know now, and wish that you could feel the way that I do. True love doesn't care about looks, but about who a person is on the inside. You are a hateful woman inside and out, and will never be able to know what this feels like, and I feel sorry for you."

At hearing the Princess' words, Magdolyn began to melt, the curse of the witch finally ending, because of the Princess' true love for the Prince, and his love for her.

Turning away from the melted witch, Angel turned to her true love. Smiling, he leaned down and kissed the Princess, As they kissed, Princess Angel wrapped her wings around her Prince, enveloping them both into a feathery, warm hug.

And they lived happily ever after.
